Sanders said, “The primary purpose of college isn’t learning a specific set of professional skills, the primary purpose of college is to become a learner.”, I think that this statement is so true. Often times as young adults, we think that going to college will help us choose a major or become a successful person. However, we tend to forget, or make less of a priority, that the reason we go to college is to discover who we truly are. For most people, going to college is the first time that they’ve been away from home. They have to discover how to do things on their own in order to balance the tasks of life, and with this comes a heavy responsibility. This made me think about the efforts that I put into my learning experience, and that there is definitely room for improvement. I need to make sure that I’m not taking this time for granted, and that I’m making the most out of it! Sometimes I find myself caught in different stressors (ie. the future, grades, etc). I need to make sure that I stay in the moment to enjoy the time and experiences that I have. I need to remain positive even in the hardest of times, to apply the lessons and techniques I learn into my daily life. By doing this I will discover my potential as an individual and become the person I’m striving to be. I’m may not be perfect, but I can try my best to make a change and that’s all that
