I am passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. Nursing is a career that fulfills this ambition. Having been part of a large family I have been learned to help others and to do the best I can in everything. I believe Nursing is a career that I would excel at because I love working with people and empathizing with their problems. I am hardworking, motivated and compassionate. I believe these personality traits are important to do the job properly. Nursing is a vocational career and it comes with rewards if you have the compassionate attitude. Becoming a nurse has always been a passion, I remember as a child helping to look after my grandmother who was sick, bedridden and had bed sores. Helping to take care of her and wanted to provide comfort is what drove me to want to become a nurse. The field of Child nursing has become much more specific after having children of my own. I can relate to a parent who feels helpless when their child is ill. Just recently I had one of the biggest fright of my life where my own 2-year-old daughter became unresponsive for about 5 mins because of elevated temperature. The way the nurses took care of her and reassured us as parents about what was happening peaked my interest in this field.
