Personal Statement

Initially, I knew I wanted my career to consist of helping others, but in high school I was unsure which profession I should pursue. I decided that I wanted to become a registered nurse shortly before I enrolled at J. Sargeant Reynolds full time. I was considering becoming an elementary school teacher, a counselor or a nurse. The summer of 2013 I went to the Philippines and helped at a pregnancy clinic. I could see myself becoming a nurse after that. The following summer I started volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital, which has furthered my enthusiasm for nursing. I am currently enrolled at VCU School of Nursing in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am finishing my first year and will graduate in May
