[Title]: [Subtitle] What do I want to do when I graduate from college? That is a very good question. I am still not exactly sure what I would like to do, but I can say what I have thought about doing and that is being a Physician Assistant. You may ask well why would I want to be a Physician Assistant. I would like to be a Physician Assistant because they help others and they care for others when they need it. I like helping others whenever I can and as much as I can. A Physician Assistant (PA) are health professionals that are on a team with their supervisor and they practice medicine. They are typically someone who practices under another surgeon and listens to the directions that are being given.
Some of their responsibilities include physical examinations, counseling, and assisting in surgeries when they are needed. They are trained to examine patients, diagnose illnesses, injuries, and give the patient the treatment that is needed to help cure them. In some places a Physician Assistant cane prescribe medications, but in some places they are not licensed too. Their everyday tasks depend on what they are instructed to do by their supervisor and by the state law. How can you become a PA? In order to become a physician assistant, you have to complete the education programs that are required, and most of the programs requires you to have a bachelor’s degree or some type of college education. They require you to have at least three years of experience in the health field, such as in nursing, or in emergency medical services. The requirement for each program is different. None of the programs have the same requirements for admission. The more experienced you are, the more money you will earn, and not only that but you will carry more responsibilities. With more experience, that allows you to work with patients that have more serious problems. Working as a physician assistant provides the opportunity for lots of things to be done. Becoming a physician assistant almost allows you to as much as physician does, but it takes less time to become a PA than it does to become a physician. Another benefit is that you don’t have as much stress as a physician because you don’t have quite as much responsibilities as a physician. There are some disadvantages when it comes to being a PA. They may have less responsibilities and less duties to fulfill, but they don’t make the salary that physicians make. Not only that, but they also have less authority, with that being said, some people may not want to be seen by a physician assistant when they are expecting to be seen by a doctor. A PA will always be supervised by either a surgeon or physician. It does not matter how much experience you might have. Overall, I think that becoming a physician assistant would be a great opportunity. I think that because I like helping others whenever I can. Being a PA would be filled with many different experiences, for instance learning and seeing new things.
