First, family is everything to me. Do you know the saying “you don't get to pick your parents?” Everyday I wake up feeling thankful that I have the best parents in the world. In life you only get one body and getting a healthy one is a blessing. My health is my happiness and allows me to live my life happily and freely. I'm also extremely thankful for the health of my family members. One of my favorite shows is Dancing With the Stars. Two seasons ago, Amy Purdy, one of my favorite contestants on the show, told her story. She was a Paralympic snowboarder who at the age of 19 contracted Neisseria meningitis. Although she was cured of the disease, she ended up losing the use of both legs that were amputated from the knees down. She was a great dancer and inspired me because she was so thankful and grateful for what she had, not what she didn't have.
Finally, being able to play sports and do what I love everyday is rewarding and deserves so much thankfulness. Also, I have great coaches and amazing teammates. Sports allow me to have an outlet of peace and feeling the athlete’s “high”. Sports allow for healthy competition and fun. The cool thing about sports like basketball, soccer, and running is you can just lace up your sneaks, grab a soccer or basketball and play anywhere. Being able to practice what you love right in your own backyard or driveway is pretty neat and deserves tons of
