Do you believe in the saying “Good leaders are made not born.”? If yes, then count me in. I do believe that a person can become a great leader if he had the desire to influence others through his charisma and all other traits that contributes to a description of a good leader. And of course, one great factor to being a good leader is how he has been brought up since his childhood.
In my own experience, I had been a leader in a group several of times. It started when I was in my freshman years in New Ormoc City National High school, I was appointed by our teacher to become the President of the class. As a first timer (since I had a very shy personality when I was a kid), took a hard time to do my duties and responsibilities. I need to take one step at a time. Through the process, I had learned a lot especially from my mistakes. Indeed, experience is the greatest teacher you can have. Being a leader carries a lot of responsibilities. I was in awe and sort of flattered at that moment; I just can’t imagine that there were people who believed in me more than I have believed in myself. I accepted the offer. After the elections, I was not able to make it. Yes, I lost the game. But that doesn’t stop me. It was charged as an experience. I did not regret because as for me, I gave a good fight and that matters to me. Talking in front of a big crowd and trying to convince them to vote for you is not an easy thing to do. I respected their decision. I keep saying to myself that I need to
