An example of a flexible work environment includes hours of employment that suit and enable staff to work around their family and recreational lives. This then decreases fatigue on the job which can prevent disease such as mental health issues which has a wide range of ramifications to the organisation including financial cost.
It also increases productivity due to a happier worker, a safer environment in which to work both mentally and physically due to more alert workers. One health and safety issue which
would be negated is office bullying as a result of the fact that the employees are happier and leading satisfying lives.
In conclusion, it must be said that a flexible work environment is important because it enhances the health of the worker and as a result the productivity of the worker and as a consequence the positive outcomes for the company involved.
