Benefits Of Moving To America
Change can be uncomfortable yet it is sometimes a necessary part of living and moving on. The time of my life where I had experienced a great change was when I migrated to the United States with my family. We left our homeland due to some conflicting issues and my family wanted me to live a better life than them. While it was a hard transition for me to meld myself into American society, it helped me transition into a better person with a bright outlook.
Arriving into the United States was like arriving in a whole different world. Ever since I had arrived to America, my entire perspective has flourished with many different people and their culture. Despite that everybody is from different ethnics, they all coexisted together as one big community. The community allowed me to experience new relationship with people of different race, something I would never be able to accomplish in my old homeland. Everyone around me helped influence my life in many ways, from learning a language, assisting others and participating in fun activities.

Everyone was so friendly to me and I became able to build lifelong relationships many of them. I have best friends that are from different cultures who I can say for sure, are true friends as well. They are all ambitious and have huge dreams. We motivate, have fun, and help one another as well. They are very special to me and inspire me to be the best I can be. There is no mistake that my friends influenced who I am

Besides favorable immigration policies and my being an American citizen from birth, I belong and my belonging has never been in question. However, my culture is far from perfect and inclusive: it is not inherently beautiful or remotely superior to anyone else’s, it tends to disappoint me when it touches on things I am passionate about, and it has surrounded me so completely for my whole life that I can scarcely imagine what life is like without it, a scary prospect considering the precipitous place between one life and the next that I now…

About seven billion people live in this world, each beating heart goes through their own changes, whether it’s becoming a military personnel or simply running away from your home and experience the world through your own eyes. My significant change came at an early stage, without any hesitation my parents sent my sister and I to Nicaragua for 4 years. When asked the question “what is an american?”, almost every single person would provide a different answer. This question is very open ended, and there are infinite possibilities for a response. Being an american is not something that can be decided by a few physical criterion, it is something more. To be an american is, according to Patricia Fernandez, “a state of mind,” based on a person’s beliefs rather than their tangible features. Therefore, I believe that an American is someone who considers America to be their home, believes in freedom and equality for all people regardless of race, social status, gender, or ethnicity, and is loyal and supportive to the United States.…

Having lived in a variety of countries, I have developed a level of interest and compassion for various communities and environments. I often felt like an outsider when my family and I would initially move to a new city. The unique experience of being able to look into a community or society from the outside allowed myself to not only appreciate but also analyze my surroundings. Growing up in South Korea, California and Louisiana, due to my father’s work, allowed me to appreciate different cultures while developing an awareness for the greater, overarching society of the world. I was able to be a part of the individual culture of each distinct community while developing an appreciation for the way in which all communities are connected.…

To be American it means much more than just Sunday Night Football and relishing fast food. It means that one has certain rights, rights one cannot be deprived of. Being American means one has the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. One has the right to practice their religion no matter what it is. This allows Americans to live a life without being forced to conform to a single religion. That is part of the reason that each American has a diverse background. Another privilege that Americans have is the right to an education. People in other countries are not given an education causing them to be illiterate. This right allows one to prosper in life when one becomes older. Liberty is the state or condition of people who are able…

Why is the “American dream” not taken advantage of? Do people get blinded by love so easily that they forget what their main purpose for migrating into this country was actually for? The American dream is a desire for improving the way of living. It is simply a goal to become wealthy, to obtain a higher education, and to able to hold luxurious possessions. The American dream is at reach for anyone who is determined to focus on their goals with a positive mindset; however, whether or not those goals are successfully accomplished depends solely on the individual and no-one else. Throughout my life I have been in and out of different communities, both online and face to face, but there is only one that I’ve ever stuck to. At the age of two, my parents brought me from Mexico to the States, starting my journey of living my life being Mexican-American. This community isn’t only for those who were born and raised here with Mexican parents, but also for those of us who were also born in Mexico, yet have lived here for most of their lives. Geography and identity aren’t the only things that the people in the community have in common, but also that we had to learn how to live with two different cultures. Although I do consider us a pretty strong community, it isn’t that strong because there’s no leader and not everyone knows…

Every morning I wake up in a warm bed, usually to the smell of breakfast being made in the kitchen. Once I get up I normally take a shower and then begin to put my makeup on, do my hair, and get dressed. After I get ready and eat breakfast I get in my car and drive to school. After school I grab a quick snack and go to cheer practice until about nine o’clock. When I get home I do my homework and go to bed. I am allowed to do many of these activities because I am an American. Being American gives people the freedom to make their own choices and have more opportunities.…
