When Benjamin Bushyhead was born he already had hair and a beard, especially when he was ten years-old, he beated all the men in the longest beard competition. Benjamin also learned how to shave his own beard when he was only seven years old. People always liked him though because he was really a funny person and always liked helping people. In school, people would never …show more content…
recognize him when he shaved his beard because he beard can grow really fast where he has to keep shaving. But sometimes, Benjamin would be a really weird person sometimes like he joined a motorcycle biker gang just for the different beard styles. He always liked looking and finding different muscle cars, classic vehicles, and even new supercars.
When it was 1964 and he was 26 he joined the life of being a hippie during the Vietnam war started. He had long hair and a big braided beard, which other hippies would nickname him Bigfoot Bush. He joined a band and performed in local places like casinos, bars, retirement homes and even local supermarkets. Benjamin would sing about his thoughts and opinions on life and what was actually going on the news, eventually he became a hit and people wanted him to make a record and go on tour. Unfortunately, Benjamin had other plans in life and eventually go enlist in the military, so he declined the offer of being a professional singer and making a record.
The Vietnam war was still going on and so Benjamin joined the army and started boot camp a week later, which they also took his picture and shaved his beard.
He didn’t have enough time to finish boot camp, the army sent him to North Vietnam to help fight in the front line against the South. He was injured in battle and had to return to America military hospital and eventually go home, but there was more than what he did in Vietnam. He went back to his restaurant to work to pay off his apartment payment and all the bills for the restaurant. Time passed until he was 85 years old when he traveled to Washington D.C. to meet the president and get the medal of honor for his actions in Vietnam. Benjamin never had any kids or even adopted one because he didn’t need people to take care of him, he feels that he could do it by himself. Benjamin Aaron Bushyhead died on April 27, 2009 at the age of 98 and received a military service funeral where the president and all the members that were in Vietnam from came to respect his honors in
war.
