Best Response To Conflict
Having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict, especially in time of war. In times of conflict there can be many different responses, but one of the best and most successful would be having a positive attitude. Other approaches to conflict often don’t end up the way most would like it to be. Other responses might end bad for the one in conflict, for instance it can end with the downfall of a country or it’s leadership. As an example, in the middle of WWII Winston Churchill took over as prime minister of Great Britain. He always had one hundred percent confidence that his people could win. Another example of a positive response is the letter titled Dear Mrs. Breed where a japanese child writes a letter to a librarian that donates books to children in the internment camps. Considering the mention of Winston Churchill, in the text it says, ”You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy”(Churchill 10). This shows that Churchill is in the conflict of war and he is given the choice of the many responses to conflict; he decides to go with a positive attitude. He believes that if they don’t fight then it will end …show more content…
When having a positive attitude towards conflict someone would think they can beat the conflict, but if one were to doubt themself then the conflict would have a much greater affect on them. For instance, someone is conflict and they have two responses: a positive one and a negative one. If that person were to respond negatively than they would get stressed and doubt themselves. If they respond positively then they wouldn’t get stressed and feel good. That should make the decision

    Conflict is know as a disagreement or serious argument. Imagine having to get rid of stuff you usually do. For example you may have to stop going out of your house for a long period of time without seeing friends or family. How will you respond to this certain “conflict”?     What is conflict? Why is it good to have a positive attitude during conflict? Why, for so long have humans cruelly mistreated each other if “they are all equal?” Conflict is a fight, battle, or struggle, especially a prolonged struggle (dictionary.com). Anne Frank gives an insight on what life was it was like to not know if you would live for the next day. In Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne is living through the turmoil of all the jewish people as her and her family hid from the Nazi’s. Although the situation she is in is horrifying she manages to stay positive minded. Another story, Dear Miss Breed, a story where all Japanese people in the United States, citizens or not, were placed in internment camps because of the air attack on Pearl Harbor. Miss Breed, a children’s librarian at the San Diego Public Library, gave kids that were put in these camps hope by donating books to them and also by writing letters back and forth to them trying to give them some positivity even in their time of crisis.
