Bill Gates
Bill Gates: An Amazing Philanthropist In his article, ‘What should a Billionaire give?’ writer Peter Singer talked about unequal distribution of wealth between the rich and the poor. He talked about the values of life between rich and poor people. Since all men are created equal, the rich should always help the poor to balance the huge difference of wealth between the two classes. To most wealthy people, it’s always about making more money. Some wealthy people, on the other hand, actually give away a ridiculous sum of money to help people in need. Bill gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, is one of the few billionaires who realized that he had an obligation to give more of his wealth to charity. In 2000, with the help of his wife Melinda Gates, combined several family foundations to form the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (B&MGF). The important goals of the B&MGF are, enhancing healthcare globally, reducing extreme poverty and expanding educational opportunities and access to information technology. To begin, the most important goal of the B&MGF is to enhance healthcare globally through their Global Health Program (GHP). The main aim of the GHP is to promote global health issues by addressing them head-on. The B&MGF gives out approximately $800 million every year to fight against global health problems. As of 2012, the B&MGF donated over $1.3 billion to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. One key focus of the B&MGF is, in partnership with Rotary International, the eradication of Poliomyelitis (polio). The B&MGF provides 17% ($86 million in 2006) of the world budget for the attempted eradication of polio. The Children's Vaccine GHP received a donation of $27 million to help vaccinate against Japanese encephalitis on December 9, 2003. The B&MGF also gave the Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation more than $280 million to develop and license an improved vaccine against tuberculosis for use in high burden countries. Moreover, reducing extreme poverty is another

Jeff Bezos, the leader, had a wide set of values that he obviously followed in all the different decisions he took. The clearest ones are that he is creative, ambitious, broad minded, adventurous, courageous, intellectual and helpful. He has been creative as he thought out of the box and used some statistics about the internet usage rate along with the idea that books isn 't a thing that people would need to see and try before buying to mix them together and start the all new idea of selling books online, and thus started a small company based on a dream from his house and then shifted to an office. That was clear in the Harvard business review quoting "Given the attributes of the product and the structure of the supply chain, a no bricks retailer could clearly make it and make it big!”. Along with creativity came ambition and adventure where his ambition took him a step at a time into new opportunities of renting storage spaces, and allowing bidders to jump in, and compare their prices, which made it clear to customers that Amazon cares a lot about them and wants for them the best bid generating more customer loyalty and satisfaction. He was an intellect when he needed to be one as clear in the Fortune magazine interview saying " he concocted a business plan" meaning he wasn’t all dreamy without facing reality, he also cared about figures and plans to guarantee the idea 's success. Helpfulness also came along the way mentioning in the New York state university interview that his parents are currently running the Bezos family foundation which is focused on…

Many would leap to the conclusion that Gates will one day be recognized as the most important person of his generation because for over 15 years he was the richest person in the world. Such achievements, however, will likely seem small in the scope of history. There will come a day when many fortunes dwarf the Gates fortune, making the accumulation of his wealth small and less meaningful (Thorpe, 2012). With his wife Melinda at his side, the two have created the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. From poverty to health, to education, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation focuses on offering the opportunity to dramatically improve the quality of life for billions of people around the world (Gates Foundation,…
