Nicole Goodman is a strong, independent, courageous, and selfless female. My past and my obstacles in life that have not been easy has shaped who I am and how I live my life to this day. I grew up in a broken family with infidelity and addiction. And dealt with my parents being divorced at a difficult age. I have learned in life to cope with my stresses and learn from every experience especially the bad ones. I believe everything happens for a reason and there is a lesson to be learned from each and every one. I am passionate about my family and helping others. When I say helping others, I mean when they are in a crisis or helping them sort out their emotions when they are having a hard time. Being able to be selfless and show my love when my friends and family need me the most gives me a feeling I just cannot explain in words .And being able to help them emotionally and give them advice that physically works for them. Things that excite me are doing things I love with my friends and family. From just a simple gathering to going on adventures and vacations with them. 2. ARE YOU GOOD AT THESE THINGS?

In the essay, Myth of Adolescence, Alex and Brett Harris incorporate their thoughts on what they feel about what teenagers actually go through during their period of `adolescence.` They go on to compare this phase to an elephant. They say that an elephant is a powerful beast that can be restrained even by a piece of twine. According to Alex and Brett, young teens are the elephant and our twine is the concept of adolescence. Unfortunately, these low expectations end up limiting teens for no reason. Teenagers, between the ages of 13-18, are held back by society and aren't able to excel in life. The essay, Myth of Adolescence, states that the socials expectations are becoming obstacles for teens. We as teenagers, need to erase the invisible shackles…

It has shaped me into the person I am today. Being the oldest of three in a broken family has forced me to become a role model, and taught me to take on large responsibilities. I learned how to use my independence for the better of my siblings. I learned how to cope with difficult people, I learned how to put on a happy face, I learned how to leave my family life at home. I learned how to be happy with my friends and at school. I learned how to smile through the day, ultimately being content with my life. I gained the strength to look at the pros and not the cons. This unfortunate situation has caused me to become a more positive person. If I could give one piece of advice to…
