The 7 properties of life
Order - All living things (organisms) have ordered structure
Reproduction- Organisms reproduce their own kind, life comes from life
Growth & Development - Information carried by DNA controls the pattern of growth and development in all organisms
Energy Utilization - Organisms take in energy and use it to perform all of life’s activities
Response to the Environment - All organisms respond to environmental stimuli
Homeostasis - An organisms internal environment is regulated by mechanisms to cope with an imbalance
Evolutionary Adaption - Reproduction underlies the capacity of populations to change

Basic Chemical Terminology
The basic chemical terminology is a substance produced by or used in a chemical process. Molecules and compounds of a cell necessary for life
Most matter in the body that is not water is made of organic compounds. Organic compounds contain carbon atoms that are bonded together with other elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, and other carbon atoms. The four main types of organic compounds found in living things are lipids , nucleic acids, and proteins. These larger molecules create the structural parts of the cell, carry information, like DNA in our genes and control the rate of chemical reactions in the cells. Without these compounds, cells would not be able to function. Water, oxygen, carbon dioxide and the minerals needed to sustain life are inorganic.

Mendel’s Laws
Mendel's first law states that during the formation of reproductive cells , pairs of hereditary factors such as genes for a trait separate so that offspring receive one factor from each parent.
