The film Bloody Sunday depicted a conflict between the Northern Irish Catholics and Protestants, including the British military, which occurred on January 30, 1972. Though promised a reform which never took place, the Irish Catholics believed they were being discriminated against and decided to protest byways of attempted peaceful marches, however, the British were not happy about this and believed the protests to be a threat to the British rule of law and therefore put a ban on marches, threatening arrest of any and all involved in any kind of protesting. This portrayed a certain division among the government and the public.
