Assignment 11: Final Project – Marketing Plan
Financial Goals 1. Blue Mountain Spring Water will increase our customer base and expand our distribution by reaching beyond the borders of Pennsylvania. We plan to start selling our product in the state of Florida, Georgia and other southern states by the end of this fiscal year. Our revenues over the past five years have provided us with a significant portion of the amount we need to expand our production facility to accomplish this task.
As with any company we are always trying to improve our product and develop new product lines. Our research team currently is developing a new product line: flavored water with all natural ingredients. We are also developing a delivery service of our water. Our bottle design team has finished a 5 liter design that will be fitted to a water dispensing unit. These units will be rented to office buildings and houses for a very low cost per month. We will stop production on the 2 liter bottle. The machinery that was manufacturing the two liter will start producing the 5 liter bottles. 2. These two new product lines will increase our revenue by 15%. 3. We plan to donate 100 cases of our water to each school in the area around our facility. We will take out the soda and replace it with our water for a month.
Nonfinancial Goals 1. New product line – Flavored water, 5 liter bottle and also distributing coffee machines that will be able to hook up to the 5 liter bottle. 2. Our new geographic market will be the southern states. 3. Along with our campaign when a consumer turns in 25 of the cardboard bottoms from our case they will receive a free case of our water. We are also starting another campaign, when they return 100 plastic bottles they will receive a free case of our water. We have joined together with a company that will grind up our bottle and recycle them into the raw form of plastic so we will be able to manufacture more bottles with purchasing any new

    Vincor is a well established wine and wine-related producer based out of Mississauga Ontario. Vincor wants to use their current success and venture into the refreshment market by introducing a new line of coolers. In order to do this Vincor will have to decide what type of cooler to produce as well as the design, packaging, price and marketing strategy. Market research was conducted to determine who the consumers in the alcoholic refreshment industry were, what their interests were and what the current trends were. Vincor determined that 56% of Canadians 19 and older claimed to drink one or more of the different types of refreshment beverages. Of these, 57% of refreshment drinkers were determined to be female while 43% were men. Vodka or spirit coolers were found to be the most popular cooler choice, followed by wine coolers, hard lemonades and then ciders. There are currently several well established competitors in the market. Smirnoff Ice is the current market leader with their premium vodka cooler, Bacardi Breezer’s rum based cooler is a close second and Mike’s Hard Lemonade is also popular with both females and males. There are 5 different options available to introduce into the market. The options to produce are as follows: 1. Real Fruit Juice Cooler 2. Gin Cooler 3. Spring Water Cooler 4. Tequila Cooler 5. Energy Cooler Based on the information available we have determined that alternative 1, produce a real fruit juice cooler, would be the best option for Vincor. Research showed that fruit juice coolers were preferred most among the 19-22 year olds. It was also determined to be favoured among men and Quebecers. Qualitative research revealed that non-carbonation was a strong selling point, while natural sweetness resonated best of all.     This paper will examine the history of the “War on Drugs” and the racial and sentencing disparities that have resulted because of it. In the House of Representatives a new bill was introduced on January 7, 2009. Policy number H.R.265, was cited as “Drug Sentencing reform and Cocaine Kingpin Trafficking Act of 2009. The never ending drug trade and the policies that try to limit it, have far-reaching impacts in the United States and other countries. Over the last twenty years, U.S. politicians have responded to mounting drug abuse at the local and national levels with increasingly unjustly legislation. Cooperatively, these measures have become known as the ‘War on Drugs’. In the United States, these policies have focused on the link between drug, gang activity, and crime, emphasizing punishment over treatment. Mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses have been put in place, leading to an explosion in the number of people incarcerated nationwide. Racial disparities in drug sentencing, particularly in crack vs. powder cocaine offenses, also stem from the ‘War on Drugs’ policy. The War on Drugs is a prevention campaign that was established by the United States Government with the aid of participating countries, with the intention of reducing illegal drug trade. This initiative includes a set of laws and policies that are intended to discourage the manufacturing and distribution of illegal substances. The term was first used by then President Richard Nixon in 1969. In June of, Nixon officially declares a "war on drugs," identifying drug abuse as public enemy No. 1.
