Border Wall
There are many problems including terrorist attacks, increase in taxes, and illegal immigration. All of these problems require one main solution which is installing a border wall in between Mexico and the USA. The border wall will be 1,989 miles long, and the wall will provide many uses to the USA. In addition, constructing a border wall in between Mexico and the United States will help the US gain control, protect citizens, and become better neighbors. First and foremost, building the border wall will extremely assist the US in reaching high levels of control. The new change will affect not only Mexico and the US, but the whole world. When a person puts a lock on a door, it is not considered insulting, but people act that building a wall is the worst thing the US can possibly do. Border walls are just another lock securing the country, and people will still be able to go into the country. The wall will influence people to become better people, and once the security at the border believe they are safe, they will let them enter the country. Border walls have been installed in many other areas, and the amount of illegal immigration was cut in half. “The proof that border walls are effective deterrents against unlawful entry is demonstrated by the fact that cities with walls or similar barriers in place have seen dramatic drops in the number of illegal immigrants crossing at those points. Border Patrol agents in Naco, Arizona, for example, reported that the wall built there in 1996 cut illegal immigration in half within a year” (A Wall is the Best Way). Additionally, the cost of the border wall is sizable, but the cost of illegal immigration is sizable too. Building a wall will be one large purchase, and the cost of illegal immigration is many large purchases. “The Secure Fence Act, passed in October 2006, instructs the Department of Homeland Security to build 700 miles of fence along the US-Mexican border and authorizes other enforcement mechanisms to prevent illegal immigration into the US.
