Bottled Water
The controversy concerning bottled water and tap water has been around ever since I can remember. Think about it, if you were walking down the street and someone offered you a cup of water from one hand and a bottle in the other, which would you take? Which is safer? Which is more portable? Which is more tasteful? Here are three main reasons why bottled water is not as bad as you think. Not so surprisingly, bottled water is one of the first things to clear the shelves in lieu of any type of natural disaster. There are all kinds of jobs pertaining to bottled water. People have to gather the water, purify it, create the bottles, package it, carry it to the store, and even unload. The jobs created by bottled after companies and the companies who haul it make a major impact on the U.S. economy. Think about if we just quit with bottled water all the jobs that would be lost and the lives that would be impacted. Some anti-bottled water people may argue that plastic bottles are bad for the environment, and yes, the petroleum and the use of the oil is definitely not the best for our environment. With that being said, there are many bottled water companies turning to the use of organic materials to create the bottles. Problem solved! As far as the plastic bottles that are already in use, recycling is a major way to help the environment. Bottled water is also a great way for advertisement. Place your logo on a bottle of water and there is no telling who will see it. In conclusion, no matter what is said in the essay about which is better and which is worse, you must decide for yourself. Will you boycott bottled water or continue drinking from the streams of Fiji? The subject may get brought up on the subway or in day to day conversation with your colleagues.
