Bottled water swooped in and saved the day. Almost every store had a supply of drinking bottled water. If bottled water couldn’t sit on shelf and then be bought for anytime use, we would have been out of luck. Having this convenience was literally a life saver.
Some Americans live now and days literally hour by hour. Tying into the convenience of Bottled water it also saves the troublesome time of filling water bottles with tap water. Tony Crabbe writes in his article, "Five reasons why everyone is so busy,” “It’s all too much. We have too much to do, too much information and too much pressure”. Parents wake up at the crack of dawn and work hours of their day not being able to take the time and fill up a cup of water. Grabbing a bottle of water and then leaving for a work day ends up saving you time.
Lastly, Bottled water is overall safer than tap water. If a city’s water ends up becoming contaminated, this affects everything from drinking water, to taking a shower and even feeding your pets. Of course, drinking contaminated water is just not safe for anyone or anything. There are many towns and cities who do not even have access to clean tap water so why wouldn't a bottle of water be beneficial and safer. On the other hand, many tap water users believe tap water is better than bottled water.
As tap water is used it does not only serve drinking purposes. It provides many with water to feed, cook, clean, etc. If this water was to become contaminated, then you have now used water for many purposes in negative ways. Public water systems must follow a set of rules and regulations on where they are able to distribute water to; consumers in the local area do not get to pick which water system provides them water. Unlike bottled water, you can pick from a list of different name brands of bottled water. Tap water drinkers also believe tap water is more beneficial than bottled water because of the expense. This statement is false by developing countries having access to tap water, but this does not benefit them in all cases. In foreign countries access to tap water that is clean and convenient is almost scarce in certain areas. Developing countries aren’t as blessed as Americans for the simple fact accessible water is hard to find without struggling in some way, shape or form. Filling up multiple bottles full of tap water is just more time consuming than going out and buying a whole case of
water.
In conclusion, it's simple to reason that bottled water is better than tap water. Time is not in our hands and neither should tap water. Tap water has impacted humans negatively and a switch to drinking bottled water could affect you more positively. Bottled water is more convenient than tap water and tap water is less safe. Overall bottle water is a blessing to have.
