Breakfast: The key to success
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but many students of our generation disregard the importance of this meal. In the past years, as a student of Saint Louis University-Laboratory High School, I’ve learned that many of our schoolmates believe that breakfast is not necessary. They say, it can only make them fat so skipping this important meal is their way of dieting. Others don’t even bother to prepare nor eat breakfast because they wake up late in the morning and they are afraid to be late in school. Unfortunately, for some they skip this meal because of financial problems. And lastly, the worst and the most annoying reason I’ve heard from our schoolmates is that they are lazy or just don’t feel like eating! Before anything else I would like to ask you a question. Do you eat breakfast before going to school? Why or why not? If you ask me, yes I do eat a heavy meal before classes. And you should too, for many reasons.
What do you understand about dieting? In my readings, dieting means eating balanced amounts of nutritious foods and avoiding unhealthy or junk foods. Surely it’s not skipping meals. Skipping a meal is fasting not dieting. We diet to become healthy but for other students dieting is just about having a good appearance… Not eating breakfast can cause many health diseases. It can give you gastritis which is the inflammation of the lining of the stomach according to mayoclinic.com. Because of this you would feel pain. And this is just the tip of the iceberg since you may even end up in the hospital which makes you miss your classes, seatworks, quizzes and exams. Of course, you will miss your friends, your crush, and Sir Jarata. If this is left untreated, it can lead to complications like internal haemorrhage, then cardiac arrest if with severe bleeding.
“Time is gold” they say but that is not an excuse not to have the most important meal of the day. Did you know that moving with an empty stomach can lead to loss of

As I look at my first diet analysis as well as my second one, I can see where I skipped meals just drinking a glass of milk for breakfast or a can of Coke or a bottle of water for lunch or dinner. This is not a wise choice. Skipping meals makes a person hungrier, in turn making it more difficult to limit portion sizes and make healthy food choices at the next meal. Instead, filling up on foods that are high in fiber and water like fruits, vegetables, and soups can help with satiety while controlling and reducing caloric intake.…

Firstly, I support the breakfast program because kids will have better health. For example, by eating breakfast kids have energy. For me, when I wake up in the morning I feel like going back to sleep. After hurrying to school and skipping breakfast I become distracted in class and my stomach begins to ache. However, with the breakfast program kids will come to school unstressed about missing breakfast and will be wide awake, full of energy and ready to learn. Adding the breakfast program will guarantee that kids maintain energy and succeed in school. Another example of why I support the breakfast program is because without breakfast you will develop a belly and/or become overweight. Without starting your metabolism early in the day, when lunch comes an issue occurs. Without breakfast you’re metabolism starts late in the day which will overall result in a very slow metabolism. However, with the breakfast program this obesity will not be an issue in this school district. The breakfast program will definitely help prevent kid and teen obesity.…

The obtrusive limitation of the current lunch policy lies on two key factors—time and appetite. For one thing, the current lunch time given to students is approximately 30 minutes, not enough time for digesting food with high in fiber and low in calories after the everlasting lunch lines. Students can devoured a pizza and a hamburger expeditiously with few bites whereas students can only nibble away black been burgers, tasteless salad with a drink they disgust with. Not surprisingly, the students from L.A. United School meals are “being rejected in en masse.” Who would want wait a long lunch line for food they annoy? Who would have an appetite to battle with fruits and veggies when they could wait an hour and eat what they savor. Clearly, a successful meal should be the ones that could restore kids’ appetites and reduce eating time. In turn, this may transform student’s life style.…
