The Queens College women’s volleyball team defeated Bridgeport College in three sets :25-14, 25-22, 31-29. Each of the victories for the Knights were not easily attained as the last two sets were decided by 3 points or fewer. In the first set, the Lady Knights played very well as they opened up the game with a 10-5 lead. At one point during the set, the Knights held a 10 point lead.

There were 22 different moments during the game in when the scored was tied. A 24-24 tie forced the game to go into extra sets. There were so many opportunities for each team to clinch the set. However, each time one team was going to lose the set, they show their resiliency and even the score. Late in the set, QC Knights held a 30-29 lead and were one point away from clinching the set and winning the game. A miscue from Bridgeport led to the Purple Knight’s ultimate defeat which sealed the victory for the Knights.
Senior Tori Bowser was great defending attacks as she faced. Rookie sensation, Cassidy Stewart brought a plenty of energy on the floor for the Knights. She was accurate in terms of her kills as her kill percentage was 53%.
Bridgeport’s head coach, Gary Mullin, called multiple timeouts during the game in an effort to halt the moments when the Knights were building momentum. Mullin demonstrated a calm and relaxed style of coaching during the game.
