INTRODUCTION
Occupational Safety and Health is a major responsibility to all employers. It becomes more of a factor when the nature of the business involves hazardous materials and environments. In order to ensure that businesses are functioning properly and efficiently, it is imperative that companies are staffed with individuals who are trained properly in their occupation. This memo will detail some key issues with British Petroleum along with possible recommendations that can be used to make the operations in the refineries more proficient.

As processes change, the training module will have the ability to be programmed to update training of the staff. Subsequently, having a robust computer based system will allow BP to implement that program across any oil refinery as long as they have access to their network where the program would be housed. BP would only have to worry about installing any hardware that would be needed at the site.
This new program also sends a message to the community and competitors that BP is taking a very aggressive approach to ensuring that the employees of British Petroleum know that their training is a key priority to the business. It also delivers a message that the findings of all of the reports and studies have been taken to heart, and swift action has been performed. BP is socially responsible to the public to ensure that the crude oil is handled properly to ensure that nature is preserved. The constant training of staff will help to ensure that all operators are educated on how to handle a refinery should a disaster
