Our trip to Italy

We were planning a trip, but we were not sure where to go. Our options were to go to Europe or South America. After checking prices and the offers we decided it was better to go to Europe. But we concentrated the trip only to Italy, because it seemed to be the best option for its history and food. We left from PR on a Saturday morning, next stop was NY City. At the airport we got chill at some bar and get ready for a lot of hours in a flight. At the airplane, as usual, we where boring, watching a lot of movies, eating bad food, and desperate to get at our destination. Finally, at Venice! Once we got there we take a bus that leave us close to the hotel, but like good puertorricans, we don’t read or look at the map to see where was the exact location of the hotel. We walked for almost 2 hours to see where was the hotel. After walking under the rain and freezing we decided to ask where was our hotel. It was close to the bus station, only 5 minutes walking!!! We do the check in and took a little nap. I was so tire because of the flight. Every day we wake up at 8:00 a.m. to enjoyed the breakfast and after that walked all day to see the different museums and places in Venice. After a few day eating pasta and drinking wine I was looking forward to our next place, Florence! At Florence we walked like the ironman race, a lot of miles to get to our destiny. It was the first time I used a train, a really fast train! It was awesome! We enjoyed the view of the place, the wineries, the houses, everything was pretty. When we where at Florence it was Easter celebration, we saw all the Catholic rituals and it was amazing to see all the people getting together to celebrated that holiday, a lot of people celebrating the same. As usual, we walked a lot every day. In the last day at Florence we got a reservation at Tito’s Restaurant to taste a Bistecca Florentina, it was a piece of meat almost raw, so bloody and red, I can’t eat it, but the owner was very

We headed into San Francisco early. I was surprised that there wasn’t very much traffic; I guess we were after the morning rush hour. The drive north was almost as pretty as the drive down the coast. California should be “The Natural State”, not Arkansas! Once we made it into the city, we had to cross the Golden Gate Bridge. As we emerged from Golden Gate Park, the goliath appeared before us. We just crossed it both ways, but I was in awe of how big the bridge actually was. I had never appreciated it until I saw it with my own eyes. When we came back into the city, we drove around to many of the different neighborhoods. San Francisco is incredibly diverse. We drove through “Little Japan” and “China Town”, and we parked in North Beach. North Beach is where an established population of people with Italian heritage lives and work, “Little Italy” in any other big city. We were craving some good Italian food, and we definitely found some. The restaurant didn’t have a name on their sign, but we risked it and stopped there to eat. It was authentic Italian food from scratch. They made their own noodles, sauces, bread, and dressings. The dish I had was the best Italian food I’d ever eaten. My dad felt the same way about his dish as well. After our delicious lunch, we decided to drive around the city a little while longer, and then head back to the hotel so we didn’t get stuck in rush hour…

The best part of the day had arrived, dinner. We had a reservation at the pier in which we were going to eat dinner. We looked like a whole bunch of bees ready to attack. The food was there. Right in front of our noses. We could feel the presence of the warmth coming from the food. The smell was just making our mouths water and our tummies rumble. We looked at each other with such eagerness to have some of those explicit desserts in our mouths. There we were, with our food served and ready to attack. I knew that when I was done with this food there was no longer going to be any space for the dessert. Overall the food was amazing and the experience as well.…

“Alright but I think I can try to figure it out” I replied. The rest of the flight was long and monotonous, and I could not fall asleep because I was too excited. We arrived in Milan after a six hour flight and right from that flight we had to board another smaller plane to go to the airport near my Grandparents home town. This flight only took two hours but it was still terrible. We arrived at the second airport and we had my uncle waiting for us with his tiny car. We stuffed all of our luggage into the car and we made our way to Acri. While we were in the car he was speaking to my mom and grandparents and I could not understand anything he said, it was like trying to put a puzzle together without any of the pieces. We had made it, I was ready to start my vacation but I was hungry and jet lagged. So we went out for some pizza and gelato and we went back and…

When we finished signing in, the maid took us to our room. It wasn’t like an inside hotel, it is outside but of course we had roofs over our head. Our suite was very neat and clean. The suite had a full kitchen with a loaded fridge including pop, water, juice, champagne, wine, and beer. It had a coffee machine, glasses, a dishwasher, an oven, and a full sink. It also had a full bathroom including a vanity. The suite included a washer and a dryer. It had a balcony with a table and two lounge chairs. The living room had a flat screen T.V. with an Xbox 360 with two controllers. We had a wonderful view of the ocean where you could see people sailing and parasailing. The first thing we did was walk on the beach and ate at 1 of the 21 restaurants. There food was so good. Especially the seafood. The second day we looked around and saw 30 shops and 21 restaurants. After lunch we went to the beach. The ocean was beautiful. The color of the ocean was a light blue. It looked like a big swimming pool and not an ocean. Even when you are looking down with your head above water you can see everything. We collected a lot of pretty shells. We decided to spend the full day at the beach and it was so much fun. When you…

Last November 05, 2011, I attended a photo walk entitled "Jaywalking: A Photo walk" organized by Mr. Alexis Lim who owns the blog litratonijuan (dot) tumblr (dot) com. I was exuberant when my mom allowed me to join the event. I was hesitant at first because I do not know anyone from the people who will come on the said activity. But courage overwhelms my whole being as I tell myself it will be okay. I told my mom the places we will encounter starting from the meeting place, Plaza Miranda in Quiapo up to our last destination which is Intramuros. Before we left the house, I turned on my laptop and final checked the name of the meeting place. I manage to remember the name that caught my eye before I closed the browser: Plaza Miranda, Quiapo. We left the house at 8:30AM, a little too late for the 10:00AM meeting time. My mom asked me for the last time where the meeting place was. And Plaza Miranda was the only thing I can remember. I told her Plaza Miranda, Binondo. What in the world am I thinking? Am I too old to forget such things? When we finally arrived at Lawton, my mom and I took a Jeepney ride to Binondo. And I was not quite sure about the place so I just let my mom took me to a place unfamiliar…

I had not never thought about my most memorable meal until my last birthday. Up until then, I had always spent that day at home alone watching TV and eating junk food. However, on my 15th birthday everything was different. It wasn’t just about the delicious food, the restaurant and the sharing of a unique experience with the ones I love made it a memorable meal. For the first time, my parents and my boyfriend Jose got together to have lunch at a restaurant to celebrate my birthday .It was in Miraflores, January 10th, 2009 .First, My father chose the proper restaurant, it was called “Gala” that was one of best restaurants of Miraflores, it had luxurious decoration, it had white tablecloths, napkins and flowers in every table. .Next, My parents , my boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant .Then, We were literally overwhelmed by the number of dishes on the menus but we were not looking over a customary meal , but something different .I insisted that everybody to eat “Rocoto Relleno “ , they were all agree . That day was the first time that my parents knew my boyfriend. I was really nervous, but my parents and my boyfriend seemed to get along, they were laughing and were imparting their experiences while we were waiting the food. Not only was the restaurant lovely but the food we ordered resulted to be the most delicious we have ever had. . We had to take advantage of this meal. It was served with a special sauce and also the waiter brought glasses with a wine. Next, the “Rocoto Relleno”, smelled delicious and y it had beautiful decoration but unfortunately, we did not specify that we did not want it too spicy, but it was delicious nonetheless. The portions were enormous and the taste incredible. The waiter brought us complimentary dessert but we declined because we…
