Business Communication
Instructor:
Goal: The Goal of this course is for students to improve their business communication skill. The students will learn to work together on a semester long-project while individually demonstrating growth and development through weekly reading and homework assignments.
Exams: Midterm is worth 40 percent of the overall grade. Midterm scores will be based on weekly assignments. The Final is worth 60 percent. It will be based on the average of your weekly assignments and your final project. Assignments will not be accepted late. It is up to students to prioritize as needed.
Materials: Raymond V. Lesikar and Marie E. Flatley, eds., Basic Business Communication: Skills for Empowering the Internet Generation, 10th Edition. (Boston: McGraw- Hill, 2005).
Attendance: The Class meets for three hours a week. Students are allowed to miss no more than 6 hours of class instruction before automatically failing. Tardiness is also frowned upon. Students Late to class will not be accepted for the hour. In other words, they will be counted absent for that hour.
