Company Profile (Not-for-Profit- Organization)
Profile of YMCA (Franz 2005)
YMCA is the non-profit organization of my interest. YMCA is very interesting in development of communities as being a non-profit organization. In June 6, 1844 when YMCA were founded in London, England United Kingdom including its main goal is to put the principles of Christians into practice, including achieving a healthy body, spirit, and mind. a play on the word “googol” the mathematical term for 1 followed by 100 zeroes. The YMCA is a federated organization in voluntary associations.
Establishing a healthy lifestyle including youth development are some of the ultimate activities of YMCA. They receive their funds from donations and members of the association. The touch nearly every ten people in the world is what the “Y” represents. YMCA has members along with contributions. The YMCA has devoted on humanizing the quality of people lives including making sure that everybody have understanding in his/her fullest potential as representing a child of God by creating of the mind, spirit, and body. (www.cnx.org ) the values of YMCA aren’t insufficient to the strong point of the organization which is the main core on people volunteering. The supporters along with participants of the YMCA as demoralized customers along with consumers operate to foster involvement that is said to be long-term. The staff of YMCA is growing as of now they have 2.742 staff including part-time and full-time members along with participants. There are several conditions that companies have to face over their whole health of the communities. Their techniques that are inventive are trying to overwhelm Google with enhancing methods. An example is the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis including professors form the Indiana University School of Medicine establishes a low-cost style of the software package that they achieved the same results. At this moment YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program has spread among 43 cities and many …show more content…

The main funding resources are selected from licensing, ads, youtube, usually people would pay them for advertising, which is their main source. . “Google mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” one statement that google strives on is “Focus on the user and all else will follow”. Google main headquarters is located: Google Main Mountain View 1600 Amphitheater Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043

The direct competitive company of Google is Apple. Apple is second to Google in which they are the largest companies in the world. Google had to deal with a antitrust lawsuit in which it was settled. The space along with privacy are some the main problems that Google has to handle. There aren’t many advertisers including Google that has been circling across the default privacy power on Apple’s cell including desktops browsers known as Safari depositing cookies that keep up with the browsing habits. Cookies by default are blocked by Safari there are big issues that are being establish, Google had a written code from it. Google removed the block from its sites to handle the problem, by this time they were already damaged done that were very clear. The centralized agency with U.S. consisting of France’s Commission Nationale de I’Informatique et des Libertes(CNIL) are searching into Google privacy mistakes. The organization that is looking into to see if there were any repetitions that are against the settlement was done through the Federal Trade Commission. “Terms of the agreement prevent Google from falsifying its privacy policy. Google got through this by removing the code form its site to settle the problematic. Yet, today it remains a problem that is very obvious they will likely pay a large
fine.” (Mitroff, 2012) YMCA relies on their employees for the integrity also success of policy volunteers. When being involved in outside interest and personal, volunteers along with employees need to be free from any interest, appear of conflict, relationship, or influence, with the greatest interest of the YMCA. They all have ethical, moral, and legal duty to protect the interest of YMCA form doing anything that would injure this organization’s reputation or services. Volunteers along with employees are prohibited from participating in activities that could compose the real or apparent conflict of interest. If employees have interests, which could conflict with those of the YMCA, they need to suddenly talks about their supervisor.
Contributors in any activity in violation of this policy shouldn’t begin without written approval of the executive in charge or officer of the Board of Directors. The violation of this conflicts of interest policy, are:
1. Involvement in any other business activity, transaction, or relationship, which could reasonably be interpreted by others as illegal or unethical conduct or in conflict with YMCA interests.
2. Unauthorized disclosure or use of confidential information.
3. Accepting substantial gifts, entertainment, loans, compensation, concessions, or benefits of any kind from a supplier to the YMCA.
4. Having financial interests in any YMCA transaction involving the purchase or sale, lease, or rental of any goods, materials, equipment, supplies, services, or property.
5. Direct or indirect ownership by employees or members of their immediate family of a substantial equity or debt interest in a supplier to the YMCA.
6. Using employees, materials, equipment, or other assets of the YMCA for any unauthorized purpose.
7. Other employment that may interfere with or adversely affect work performance. The Board of Directors, with the Chief Executive Office and legal counsel, will prescribe procedures for determining whether objectionable conflicts do in fact exist; and will be the final arbiter as to whether or not a particular activity violates this policy. The YMCA’s continued success and prosperity shall not be impaired by acts or situations, which cause it embarrassment, or obligations or liabilities which compromise its ability to operate independently and effectively. Accordingly, it is the YMCA’s policy to generally prohibit the giving and accepting of gifts or gratuities. Whenever an employee or policy volunteer deals with a supplier, a customer or governmental agency as an agent of the YMCA, the employee or policy volunteer has an obligation to act solely in the YMCA’s best interest. This obligation includes not only those acts formalized by written contracts, but also covers the everyday business relationships with suppliers, customers, governmental officials, and government employees. The employees of YMCA are forbidden from giving or accepting gratuities or gifts. For gifts there could be an exception that are known as the custom of the trade, including value that are insignificant under no circumstance could cause YMCA to be embarrassed or incur liability. Yes I do believe they act in a moral ethical way. The phase “Don’t be evil” are normally implemented by Google on how they serve their users. Yet, “Don’t be evil” is quite more than the saying. They are all about offering their users unlimited access to information, aiming toward providing them with the greatest products along with services including their needs. It really all boils down to doing what right. One of the ways we can put the saying “Don’t be evil” into use is through Google Code of Conduct. It are established around the acknowledgment of everything that are being perform with the work of Google, and need to be, measured toward the greatest possible standards of ethical business conduct. Google set the bar for the greatest practical along with reasons that are of aspiration. Google commitment is the greatest standards insisting them to hire good individuals, attract users that are loyal, and create products that are great. Mutual respect along with trust between users and employers are basis of Google’s success, in which this needs to be earned on a daily basis. Google encourage users to read the Code, and go by their letter and spirit, constantly keeping in mind that every user has their own responsibility to apply, including encouraging other users to do the same, since these are the Code of Google. They are asking all users not to be silent ask questions if Google or any of their employers aren’t following these guidelines. They make sure that the Board also the employees to have a great understanding and abide by these Code. If the employees don’t abide by these codes they could face disciplinary actions consisting of termination. These codes are mainly written for their employees along with members of the board, they anticipate that their consultants along with contractors and also others that are temporarily assigned to operate Google to abide by the code in linkage to the work of Google. If contractors and consultants fail to abide by these codes they can face termination of their connection to Google. Google are asking users to put their trust in them when it comes down to their personal information. They believe in keeping that trust to the fullness. Their security measures firmly set access that are limited to utilization of users information that are personal, they make certain that all their employers and users take procedures in order to protect their information from access that are being authorized. All employees and users need to have an good understanding of their responsibilities under these measures including use, collect, along with access of user personal data if they are authorized by their security polices, their applicable information laws, or measures under their Privacy Polices. The commitment of Google is advancing privacy along with freedom of expression for their users world-wide. If there are challenges by the government to their freedom of expressions and privacy, Google search out to implement standards that are internationally that respect those rights as Google establish products, respond to government request to access user data, do business in markets that are diverse, the user information are removed from the user’s content. They encourage users to contact Legal or Ethics & Compliance if any question was to come up on implementing these standards in link with what are performing on Google. Making sure that the greatest legal along with moral standard are pragmatic in individuals relationships with the ones that are in the business are ethical business practice. In a business this is the most ultimate individual in a business should be the customers. A long term death of any business is short term profit at the cost of losing a customer. Trust is build through reputation for ethical choices in any business suppliers along with associates. Suppliers that are strong in their relationships are critical to accomplishing a business. If a business want supply want the customers need this could lead to problems dong the times when a business needs it the most. The employee’s role model is the entrepreneur. If the behaviors of individuals that are in charged consist of taking home some of the inventory or supplies, lying to customers, taking money from the business, the y can expect for their employees do the same. Customers see a business as being their own and they take products that aren’t theirs, employees could see this and decide to do the same. Any communities look for a business to work in the ethical manner that increases the image of the community entirely. Let’s say if a business is located in the mall that business code of ethics will insist customer’s traffic for that particular business. A business can hurt them by having a reputation for telling their customers anything they desire to hear, even if it’s not true. A great business choice is done through ethical behavior according to the "code of ethics". Any business need to develop a written code of ethics that will serve as a framework for choices to be establish by the owner of the business along with the employees. The perception that some customers bear in mind in regards to any business through their behavior along with their actions this is done through employees in help shaping the perception of customers. There is countless amount of money that business establishes customer loyalty but seldom don’t pay attention to the critical aspect of increasing employee motivation in order to accomplish their financial along with nonfinancial goals. In the conditions of powerful competition that businesses operate in today, employees can plays a very important role in winning customers minds and heart. “YMCA honors teen for her volunteer work. Ron Ford, head gymnastics instructor at St. Charles Family YMCA, said the professional staff members at the YMCA branch had a meeting to deliberation the candidates for the award. The group was searching for individuals that have worked as a volunteer, joined the staff or worked real hard with many of YMCA programs” (www.proquest.com ) “YMCA will open a child-care-center at the old army base. The entire former Army base is being reconstructed in a project by the name of River 's Edge. A new golf course is a block away from the child- care center, and the YMCA hopes sooner or later to establish a new full- service YMCA building close (www.search.proquest.com)“Poseidon is a stylish system of overhead and underwater cameras powered by the greatest important breakthrough in computer vision technology in two decades. Poseidon insists offering consistent along with constant t surveillance in the pool. The system can automatically points out suspicious circumstances, like an individual that is immobile or gradually sinking”http://search.proquest.com) “Google has introduced a free bundle of Windows XP software called Google Pack. This collection -- labeled "beta" like several Google offerings but presented greatly as a finished product along with combining Web, security along with multimedia programs from Google including other firms with a Google Updater application to group all this software onto a computer and remaining updated afterwards.” (http://search.proquest.com)“Google executives have given the system a most important overhaul since then, giving publications additional power in the beginning version also setting their aims on those that publish most often, like as daily newspapers. A major initiative Google propelled in recent years to sell display ads, like banners, on partner Web sites hasn 't had a important influence in that market, according to industry executives. “ (http://search.proquest.com) In this society unethical behavior are very persistent in profits and non-profit organizations along with government that consist of difficult relationship among cultural impacts and individual characters. There are many of these challenges that have an end result of criminal violation including civil liability, misappropriation of assets falls under this category, misrepresentations, and fraud, of that includes conflict of interest, transparency, inadequate capability, and misallocation. For any business ethical behavior are very vital including showing respect is the main moral principle including rights of individuals, pride, diversity, honesty, and fairness. Honesty, equity and fairness, academic and interpersonal relationships insist in ethical behavior. Rights and diversity of people along with groups of individuals respects ethical behavior. Every individual should have ethical behavior need to be the standard that we all hold of attributions of responsibility along with honesty, including how we treat others in very aspects of life. Whatever position an individual holds him/her should instill ethical behavior even in the privacy of our own homes. Ethical behaviors play a very vital part in our lives that are so important in a business. A business is a risk of going under if the ones in higher positions along with their employees don’t have ethical behavior. People in higher positions in companies should set an example for their employees to abide by. Ethics is so vital in our lives as well as businesses. We should always incorporate code of ethics in day to day lives.
