At the beginning of each academic year and at the end of the previous one the amount of information in educational institutions is increasing. The reason for that is the admission campaign. It is difficult for employees to process a large amount of data for such a short period of time. However in connection with development of computer technologies there was a possibility to automate many processes and to make this task easier for staff.
It is known that the actions which are carried out within admission campaign influence the image of an educational institution. The success of this campaign depends on the actions directed on the ways of making this educational establishment more attractive for its potential students. For this reason it is expedient to address to the analysis and automation of business process “Admission campaign of the business informatics faculty” of The National Research University «Higher school of economics».
Admission campaign of any educational establishment includes activities directed for attraction and selection of applicants, as well as their enrollment to the university. It has the following objectives:
1. Fulfillment of the admission plan for budgetary and commercial places;
2. Increase of entrants’ number.
As for the admission campaign for the faculty of business informatics of NRU HSE-Perm, it includes the following actions: first year students’ admission, second and the following years students’ admission, and also actions connected with the professional orientation of school leavers.
The purpose of this work is improvement of process of student’s enrollment to the faculty of business informatics at the expense of the analysis and automation of business processes in which admission campaign is involved.
