All medical facilities are responsible for given the best treatment as possible to their patients. This may include having the ability to react the correct way in a determinate situation, always thinking in the patient and the organization’s benefit. In medical field there many precautions that must be taken in order to prevent a real problem, such as malpractice and law suit cases. For this reason is good to apply “think before act” because it all starts having a good base of ethical decision.…
With the bitter wounds of British tyranny still stinging, the Founding Fathers thought up the first amendment. Democracy flourishes only when freedoms to express views, both political and those of other concerns, are guaranteed. What happens, however, when your own government seizes and destroys these rights, in its attempt to censor the public 's pursuit of political knowledge. The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (FEC) court case brings forth this question and many more, as Citizens United, a nonprofit organization, was challenged in their attempt to broadcast "Hillary: the movie," by the FEC. The verdict, which was ruled in favor of Citizens United, deemed the film an act of the organization 'a first amendment right to free speech. Correct in their ruling, the Supreme Court upheld the abolition of restrictions…

Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? Submit a copy of the proposed regulation along with your responses to these five questions. The proposed regulation can be submitted as either a separate Word document (.doc) or Adobe file (.pdf). This means you will submit two attachments to the Week 2 Dropbox: (1) a Word doc with the questions and your answers and (2) a copy of the proposed regulation you used for this assignment.…
The easiest way to approach the question would be to be against it. Ballot initiatives known as a direct initiatives undermine the political process we have had in place since the beginning of our nation. American voters elect representatives to create laws that benefit society. If these representatives fail to do their jobs then they can be voted out of office during the next term. There should never be a time when a group of voters gets together and decides that since they can't get what they want they will pull an end-around on the legislative process by simply creating their own bills from scratch and submitting them to the public to be voted in as laws. The major problem stems from the fact that if given the chance voters will vote to…
The “Save Our Secret Ballot” Amendment was initiated by the state of Arizona and adopted by Utah, South Carolina and South Dakota. The purpose of the amendment was to perpetuate employees’ rights to continue the secret ballot process when determining union organizing activities and representation.…
The way our country has elected the president is very unique compared to other countries so in order to understand it, Tanay and I broke down in pieces. In order, for a person to win the presidency they must, campaign in as many states as possible to the backing of their political party. This means that they have to win primary’s to even have a shot at winning the presidency. Once a person has the political backing, they continue to campaign and begin speaking at debates. In regards to the presidential, people vote in their state for president they would like to win. Since most voters were farmers, a two day voting window was needed. weekends were a problem because the majority of people attended church on Sunday. In addition to weekends, Wednesdays were bad because that was market day…
C. Former Confederates and African American defenders had opposing views on new black legislators. Former Confederates, such as English clergyman J.W. Leigh, felt as though blacks were prematurely given the right to vote. Leigh argued that because blacks received franchise only five years after the abolition of slavery, they were incapable and easily influenced by radical republicans. To back his claim, Leigh cited the passing of a large grant for the Alabama and Chattanooga Railway. He states that the grant’s purpose was to give money to corrupt carpetbaggers, and that the blacks helped passed the bill after being bribed. Leigh also insinuates that having blacks in office meant that they dominated the votes and silenced whites, doing…
The Electoral College is an institution that may have served a purpose 200 years ago when the founding fathers needed a system that would be met with approval by both large and small states. The Electoral College is a flawed method of electing our President that has created problems in previous elections and is likely to be the source of problems in the future. The Electoral College provides an undemocratic method of choosing our president that potentially undermines the will of the voters. Not only can a candidate be elected without actually winning the most votes, it puts our elections at the mercy of electors who don't always cast their vote as pledged. I intend to demonstrate that the problems inherent in this voting method far outweigh any benefits it may provide. Replacing the winner-take-all method of awarding electoral votes with a system such as proportional representation or eliminating the college altogether in favor of direct election is the best way to ensure a trouble-free and fair election…
According to George C. Edwards in his article “Whether to Vote: A Citizen’s First Choice,” he explains the decisions that one face when voting, how it’s different in other countries, and asks if we should start voting by email. He first starts off with a little bit of history behind voting and how both male and female citizens began to have the right to vote. Also how restrictions have been put on anybody without citizenship or are convicted for a crime. Decision making has also became a major problem when voting, not knowing how your vote can change the campaign. Sometimes you are set to think that maybe if you choose one the other would win and their presidential run would ruin the U.S. and lead us into a whole mess of problems. Now with…
As I sit back and watch how the presidential campaign unfolds, I cannot help but realize what a terrible state our country is in. I am worried about the future of my family, my friends, and my life.…
In the first article “Voters Are Ready to Punish Pro-Gun Politicians. There’s Just One Problem” by George Zornick talks about where the candidates stand on the topic of guns during the races. It is believed that the gun control issue would be a big factor during the race. Voters want to know where it is that the both candidates, Kelly Ayotte and Marco Rubio, stand on. It mentions how 76 percent of the voters in Florida believe that Rubio actually “supports banning people on the terror lists from buying guns” (Zornick). Another 69 percent believe or are unsure whether or not he “supports background checks on gun sales” (Zornick). In the case of Kelly Ayotte, 74 percent of the voters from New Hampshire believe or are unsure that Ayotte agrees…
The theme of my collage was conflict. It was about the Hungarian War of 1956. When I started to work on the collage the theme was something wanted the viewer to understand as they looked at it. I did not want to give more details about this war. I wanted the viewer to see the collage and have curiosity about the subject to research it. I wanted the viewer to wonder why 1956? As I progress through making my collage I want to go over the emphasis of the number 56 in red represents my theme, the balance of the images in the collage and color.…
