Abstract
The consumer decision making process has been studied extensively over the last decades. It is of critical importance to understand the various decision stages before conducting market research, developing products/services, promotions, pricing strategies, and ultimately a sound marketing plan. Therefore, we take a detailed look into the buyer decision process.
1. Describe the importance of the buyer decision process with regard to today’s tourism marketing initiatives.
2. Define each step of the Buyer Decision Process using the model below (5).
3. Develop a scenario of a tourist looking to purchase a specific destination package. Take your reader on the journey through the eyes of this tourist from the beginning stages of need recognition to the evaluation of post purchase behavior. Essentially, describe your traveler 's actions through each stage (5) as well as the promotions and/or information he/she may encounter during each process.
4. Feel free to perform interviews and/or utilize former personal buyer decision process (tourism related).
