When working as a childcare practitioner it is essential that you work within the legal requirements and following the policies and procedures of the setting. Working as part of a team with both colleagues and parents to achieve the best outcome for each individual child. The basic needs of a child that should be met by a parent or primary carer are simple, but the neglect of any one of these needs can have a profound effect on their development.

As a childcare practitioner you have to work well as part of the team, respecting the other practitioners as well as the parents of the children that are in the setting. The children’s care will be affected if there are issues between staff and this would also be very unprofessional.
