Cadillac Comparison
WHISH! The wind blew off my hat as I rode in our convertible. I got to thinking about how cars have changed in the past few years. My favorite car is the Cadillac, and boy has it changed from 1963-2016. The Cadillacs of old and new have some similarities and many differences.
There are similarities between the 1963 and 2016 Cadillac. To begin, they both have the same basic features. They both are equipped with head and tail lights. The Cadillac has a rear view mirror to help guide people as they back up, otherwise if people did not have rear view, they would back up into things. Another similarity is the cost in 1963, the average price for a Cadillac was about $30,000. This price was very high for the time period. Today, the average cost is

The ‘63 Cadillac had shorter seats than the 2016 Cadillac. On the other hand, the 2016 Cadillac has newly designed foam seats which is opposite of the ‘63’s tough leather seats. The inside of the ‘63 Cadillac is much smaller than the inside of the 2016 Cadillac ,but the inside of the 2016 has more space and more room then the 1963 Cadillac. As you can see, both the ‘63 and 2016 Cadillac interiors are different. Another difference the Cadillacs have is their body style. The ‘63 Cadillac has tail fins to help it glide through the air as it takes off. On the other hand, the 2016 is pointed at the front to help it pick up speed as it takes off. Despite the the double head lights on the ‘63 Cadillac, but the 2016 Cadillac has long LED lights that u can see from a hundred yards away. Last, one major difference between the cars is the technology package. When it comes to technology, the 2016 Cadillac has a lot more options. The ‘63 Cadillac only has a radio where the 2016 has navigation system, CD players, satellite radios. Next, on the ‘63 you had to hand crank the window. Fortunately, now we only press a button. Finally, the ‘63 Cadillac only has a rear view mirror to help people back up. On the other hand, the 2016 Cadillac has a back up camera to help and warn people if there are other objects behind them. As you can see technology has had a great impact on

Someone could argue with a simple tire upgrade to the challenger it would improve its handling making just as fast in the figure eight or even faster than the Camaro. People could also argue that quarter mile times matter more because they might only care about how fast a car can accelerate from a stop. Someone could also argue that they like the feel of the extra horse power of the challenger over the Camaro. A person could argue that a challenger is a better daily driver because the seats and entire interior is bigger. If you are a bigger person, the challenger would provide way more room both width and length wise. Someone could argue that the price difference between the Camaro and Challenger is worth it because the Challenger has a larger engine with more horsepower and the car its self is bigger than the Camaro, so it is going to take more materials the make the…

In the early 80's both car companies went through some dramatic changes. For instance, the thunderous V8's were replaced with six cylinder engines, and Mustang even had a few four-cylinder engines out there as well. You ask why these famous muscle cars turned to smaller engines, its simple; fuel economy. These engines didn't use near as much gas as their big brothers, and were more environmental friendly.…

Predictably, the posher the car, the more sought after it is. So six-cylinder cars are more sought after than the four-pot Consul while the convertible is far more collectible (and hence more valuable) than the four-door saloons. Buyers tend to want Zodiacs over Zephyrs in the case of the saloon, but there was never a Zodiac convertible Mk1 offered, which is why the pick of the bunch overall is a drop-top Zephyr Six.…

The styling of the Camaro has changed greatly over the years. With five distinct generations, the development of the Camaro has vastly improved from wheels to sunroof, unlike other cars where only certain things get upgraded each year. This is really exciting for Camaros lovers. The first generation Camaro was debuted in 1966, on a new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform. You could purchase this car as a two-door coupe or convertible with 2+2 seating. There were two different engine styles for this car, an inline-6 or V8. These came in a range of different choices from a 230 ci in(3.8L) to a 427 cu in(7.0L). Second generation included some cosmetic changes, the car was heavily restyled which made it not only larger but wider as well. This was great because it had already beaten the size of the Mustang. This generation also introduced the SS and Z28 performance packages that were considered the top 10 best cars in the world according to Road & Track magazine. The third generation Camaros was the first to offer modern engines and introduce high-speed transmissions. The cars were nearly 500 pounds lighter than the second generation model. The fourth generation Camaro was very much new and debuted an update F-body platform that still retained the same characteristics since it’s introduction, also Camaro’s first (and only)…

Another major change was in 1990 when the ZR-1 was made with 375 horsepower and a LTS5 engine under its hood. To help the appearance of the ZR-1 stand out from the standard corvette coupes, it was given all new convex rear fascia and quad rectangular taillights. All of the new corvettes were made with a new cockpit design that included digital readouts and analog gauges plus a driver's personal air bag. Due to the redesigning of the corvette, the horsepower of the standard L98 engine was increased to 250. Shortly after this change, it under went a styling refinement that included a wrap-around front parking/ cornering lamps, new side-panel louvers and a ZR-1 convex rear fascia on all models. To make the corvette look better its center high-mounted stop lamp remained on the roof, while it was integrated into the rear fascia on both the coupe and convertible.…

When buying a new car, many people do not stop to think about what kind of transmission that they would like. While most cars today come in automatic versions, there are also five and six speed standard transmissions available on most car models. While certain people may not even know how to drive a standard transmission, it is not the popular choice, but for the people who enjoy using both feet to drive there is always the option. While most cars on the road today are automatics there are still ups and downs to both transmissions, standards may last longer, but automatics are easier to use and more convenient. Standards are usually sportier then the everyday persons automatic car, but they can also save on gas, and can be a little quicker compared to the same exact same automatic transmission model.…

Ford and Chevy are as American as apple pie. However, as any car fanatic knows. They are as big of rivals as the North and the South used to be. Two rival models of Ford and Chevy, in particular, is the Ford Mustang Shelby GT and the Chevy ZL1 Camaro. The Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang are quintessential American pony cars and as such, continue to fight the war over which sport utility vehicle is the best in performance. I recently became interested in cars and the whole racing aspects of them because my best friend races once in a while. He is extremely knowledgeable and interested in cars and can tell which car is the best. Becoming a huge car fanatic like him, I have to “pick a side” and decide which car I would go with the Mustang or the Camaro. The two features that I would take in to consideration in deciding which car is better than the other one is the performance that it has to offer and the style that it resembles.…

The Camaro offers Onstar and 6 front, side, and curtain airbags-a big safety perk. XM radio, power sunroof, heated leather seats, 9-speaker premium audio, automatic dimming interior and exterior mirrors, Bluetooth and USB connections, and remote start are all attractive features Chevy serves up on a pricy platter. Ford may, however, win the features contest. The Mustang is equipped with some serious technology. Ambient lighting with the MyColor system gives the interior completely customizable lighting. Ford's SYNC system provides communication and entertainment, hands-free. That's right, everything is voice activated and developed by Ford along with Microsoft. Touch-free 911 assist and vehicle health reports seem to give the Mustang a bit off an edge on the safety features. The 8 inch video screen displays back up assist through its reverse camera system. The new technology keeps drivers connected to their world yet safe. Navigation, phone, and radio features are all voice activated…
