When I first took the subject itself in high school, I found myself intrigued with the material. At first, I found some of the topics could be challenging: but very rewarding. I did a plethora of projects in that class and a had sufficient amusement with each one. But, of course, I naturally wanted to find a way outside of class to apply what I had learned. One of the ways I did this was by spending a few weeks designing simple computer programs to demonstrate a few of the laws and equations I had learned in class. It was tremendously satisfying.
One of the results of these programs was for me to start thinking about a few harder questions within physics. For example, I became particularly interested in reasoning how one could simulate artificial gravity, slow down in space effectively, or manipulate the effects of time dilation. They became questions I …show more content…
thought about frequently and tried to find a practical approach to answering. I had a few ideas, but I also knew that I wanted to expand on these concepts and understand them in a deeper context. That is something I will be able to do with this major.
Consequently, this degree will offer ample career opportunities for me that I would be intrigued in.
First, I would be more than pleased to conduct research in the field or teach it. Personally, it would be an honor to both help increase our comprehension of the discipline, or encouraging aspiring scientists to its sublime nature. Furthermore, I would also be very ecstatic to seek a position at a space firm organization like NASA or SpaceX. For as long as I can remember, I have always thought that a career aimed at understanding or exploring the universe would be an amazing opportunity. And now, I have slowly come to realize that I with this degree I may be able to legitimately explore this
notion.
At its core, it appears that physics is an extension of many of the ideas that I have explored during my life. It is an extension of calculus, a subject that I adore; It has introduced captivating ideas that I ponder daily; and has adequate areas of careers that I would be delighted to work for. For these reasons, I am very fervent and enthusiastic about declaring my major as physics.
