Cap N Kidd: Summary
Jack and Annie went to the magic tree house to start a new adventure.
Since it was raining out, Annie grabbed the book with the beach and wished they could go there.
When they got there, they were captured by pirates and held hostage until they showed the pirates where the treasure was.
The pirates thought Jack knew where it was because of the gold medallion around his neck.
They believed it came from Cap’n Kidd’s treasure.
On the way to find the treasure, Jack and Annie escaped back to the tree house to go home.
As they got to the tree house Jack realized that he forgot the book onshore and the pirates were catching up to them.
Jack hurried back to grab the book and they arrived home

In the next few months, they lost about 218 more men to the wilderness and natives as they traveled across the New World (making the total men lost at this point 418 out of 600). They were forced to kill their horses for food, and eventually they constructed boats in an attempt to find Mexico, and other Spaniards. They made five boats each with enough room for roughly 50 men. # Yet ANOTHER storm hits them, and this one lasts for six days, and several boats are lost After the storm they are so desperate for water that some of them even resort to drinking salt water, resulting in several more deaths. At this point only about 40 men of the initial 600 are alive. They shipwreck on an island which they promptly call Malhado, “The Island of Doom”.# Over the next few months, more survivors die off, and others are put into slavery, including Cabeza de Vaca. He is enslaved for several years, now being…

First, the book starts in England, which is where the journey starts, and without the setting of England, there would have been no hunt for treasure, and no deception either. In the beginning of the story, Squire Trelawney writes his letter to an inn in Bristol, and he mentions it in his letter again (58, 61). Bristol is a city in England, which is where the ship takes off from. This part of the setting is crucial because this is where the entire journey starts where Jim, his friends, and the deceptive pirates all look for the treasure. Next, one way that Treasure Island is important to the plot is because that is where the treasure is. As the book confirmed, “The doctor now turned to the sealed paper and broke the wax carefully. It was a detailed map complete with longitude and latitude. The geography of this island was clearly marked… …What stood out for us were the two red crosses on the north end of the island, and the single one on the southwest portion. To the side of this was the writing, ‘Here is most of treasure’” (52-53). Here the setting of the island is important because if Dr. Livesey had not found the map, then the hunt for the treasure never would have started in the first place. If this had…

The voyage could last anywhere from one month to six, depending on the weather. During this time the slaves were treated as ‘cargo’ instead of human beings. The enslaved Africans were confined to sitting cargo holds below the deck, near the bow and stern of the ship. The men were often held in chains while the women and children were given a bit more freedom. Because the slave traders wanted to make as much money as possible, they forced the Africans to spent the…
