Generally speaking, if there is a chance to save multiple people by killing a person and society will benefit from it and in turn will be a more humane place then chances are higher the offender will be killed. Duty is based on subjective reasoning starting with the person who commits the crime and unfortunately ending with the person or the family who results in getting hurt because of the offender. It is our duty because these people are the worst of the worst, and being able to bring back humanity and morality to the families even to society is what makes people feel safe in their homes. Our duty according to the research is to "Kramer calls the purgative rationale. According to this, the death penalty can be justifiably implemented whenever it is necessary in order to purge defilingly evil offenders from moral communities" (Danaher, p.226). Kramer states that deterrence is the justification for this type of punishment; hopefully stopping somebody because of the specific and intense consequences they could face. Although many offenders who commit these types of crimes don’t have the rationale to be deterred by the death penalty. They tend to see the gain, or the necessity of something they want and acting on it is what can get them in trouble. This sentence is supported by many because when looking the offenders, the charges, and the types of victims you don’t see virtue. “When asked if they would oppose the death penalty if it could be proven that it is not a superior deterrent, most capital punishment supporters said they would still favor it based on their moral belief that killing murderers is necessary for justice” (Simson, 2001, p.298). The supporters state that this is necessary because in general the amount of pain caused deserves to be leveled by taking away the offenders life in some cases because the crimes are so horrendous and the offenders have no strong belief system of virtues. Capital punishment is justified for many reasons and taking it away, means taking away the most severe punishment and really any say the families could
