Specific Purpose: After my speech my audience will know the history of energy drinks, side effects and what is in them.
I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: (When you feel run down or tired what do you reach for? If you are like me or any other person you probably go for an energy drink. ) B. Reason to listen: (Have you seen people who consume more than 2 energy drinks in one day, I know you know how bad people say they are but do you really know what you or other people are drinking and what the side effects are. ) C. Speakers credibility: (I am interested in this topic because I am one of those people who do drink more than one energy drink in one day and I myself experienced bad side effects. ) D.) Thesis Statement: (Energy drinks have a long history with new ingredients that have been added that leads to positive side effects and negative side effects that can be dangerous. ) E.) Preview of Main Points 1.) Today we are going to look at the history of energy drinks 2.) Then we will talk about Indergridents found inside common used energy drinks 3.) Finally we will identify side effects from a positive and negative aspect (+) (-)
