Topic: Benefits of Exercising
Purpose: To inform my audience on the benefits of exercising.
Thesis Statement: Being healthy isn’t hard work; all it takes is a little bit of motivation and dedication to exercising to change your life.
I. Introduction
A. Good evening, I’m here today to talk to you about the benefits of exercising.
B. Did you know that people who exercise just 15 minutes a day have 14% lower mortality risk.
C. Being healthy isn’t hard work; all it takes is a little bit of motivation and dedication to exercising to change your life.
D. First I will explain the current health statistics in America, I will also explain the types of exercises, and then I will explain the benefits of exercising. …show more content…
Transition: Some of the facts I found seemed to be quite startling to me.

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) a third of Adult Americans are Overweight and another third are considered obese. Making the total 68.8% of Adult Americans either obese or overweight.
A. In America in 2012 alone, as reported by the United Health Foundation, Shows that averages of 26.2% of people are physically inactive.
1. Physically inactive means that people who do no more than go to work and come back home.
B. Also broken down by state it showed that the states with the least active people had a higher obesity rate.
III. There are many ways to exercise and it can be as simple as going for a light jog or walk, to hard and complicated like body building or cross fit.
A. There are two types of training that both affect the body in different ways.
1. The first type of training is Aerobic Exercises.
a. Aerobic Exercises consist of light-to-moderate intensity activities that are sufficiently supported by aerobic metabolism can be performed for extended periods of time.
b. It could be activities such as running/jogging, walking, swimming, and cycling.
c. This helps the body use oxygen better and increase blood flow.
2. The second type of training is Anaerobic …show more content…

a. Anaerobic Exercises consist of exercise intense enough to trigger lactic acid formation. It is used by athletes in non-endurance sports to promote strength, speed and power and by body builders to build muscle mass.
b. This consists of activities like Sprints or Heavy weight lifting.
c. This type of exercising helps build strength within your fast twitching muscles, which helps build strength and size.
Transition: Now I would like to tell you about the benefits of exercising.
IV. While most exercising results take a long time to notice on the outside, the internal benefits start immediately.
A.
Some of the benefits include strengthening your heart and blood vessels.
B. It also affects the brain and mental health.
c.1. When you exercise the body releases endorphins that naturally boost your mood.
c.2. The University of New Hampshire also conducted studies that show exercise activates proteins in the brain that build new brain cells.
C. Another pair that benefits from exercise is your muscles and bones.
1. Muscle strength and Joint Health naturally decrease with age but regular exercise prevents youthful arthritis and weak muscular structures.
V. Simply combining Aerobic Exercises and Anaerobic Exercises 2-4 times a week or at least 150 minutes a week; dramatically reduces the risk of many health issues like, Heart Disease, Strokes, Type 2 Diabetes, and even Dementia Later in Life.
