Note that within each breath, the infants sternum should rise about ¾ of an inch for the best effect. After the first two breaths are given, check for the pulse. While checking for the infants pulse, it is easiest to find a strong pulse near their armpit. If no pulse can be located then chest compressions must be started. Simply put two fingers on the infants sternum and gently push down 1 ½ to 2 inches. This should be done by 15 compressions followed by 2 gentle breaths. And must be repeated for at least one minute. If the infant isn’t showing signs of regaining a heart beat then tell someone to call Advanced Life Support while continuing resuscitation. If you feel a pulse return, discontinue chest compression’s and give one breath every three seconds until the infant regains consciousness or professional medical help
