It has been a lifelong dream to complete my graduate degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. UNC-Chapel Hill has several laboratories that I am very interested in working with. A few that I am very passionate about are the laboratories that related to cardiovascular, hematology, and evolution of viruses research. I became intrigued over in these specific topics for several reasons. Cardiovascular diseases are rampant in the African American communities and have affected my family especially. I would like to get a better understanding of how cardiovascular diseases impact people on the cellular level. Laboratories that included the evolution of viruses and their adaption to the environments became very interesting to me. I have always wanted to do more research with viruses. However, Fayetteville State University does not have the capabilities to work with viruses. Additionally, I am a hard working student who is self-motivated to achieve a higher level education. After being exposed to research, I have been excited to conduct more experiments. I am thrilled about this opportunity and I look forward to hearing a favorable response regarding my acceptance into this
