Career Embellishment After many days and nights of research, the careers that fit me best are jobs in the Petroleum Geology and coaching fields. Although, they are on opposite sides of the job spectrum, they have many similarities and job specifics that relate to me as a future employee, based on my personal interests, “Flow” experiences, Myers-Briggs type, and the Focus 2 assessments given to me by the counseling department of LSU. Petroleum Geology is the study of the earth pertaining to the discovery of oil deposits. Also as the American Association of Petroleum Geologist claim “Communication is the most valuable asset a geologist or engineer can have on the work cite” (AAPG). Communication was one of my strong points in my flow assessment. Such as, being one of the captains of my high school football team and entertaining people. The second of the traits of being a geologist that connects directly to me is attention to detail. Attention to detail can cost a company fortunes (AAPG). This is the main difference of a good geologist and a bad geologist. Luckily, it’s a reflection of my personality and also my work ethic. The same three traits as before are why ill flourish in the coaching field but are in a different order of importance to me. The first trait is being active. Although, we all see coaches as being the sideline general they actually put in hours after hours in the film room game planning (Nick Saban). The second trait is my attention to detail. When I was in high school my coaches would commend me on my attention to detail on and off the field such as watching and understanding film sessions and also my blitz and coverage pick-ups from the center position during the game. The final and most important of the three traits is my ability to lead. As stated by University of Alabama’s Head Coach, “Leadership is the biggest role of a coach in any level of athletics” (Saban). When I was able to teach my little bro to throw a football, there was no other satisfaction like seeing him improve as a passer, and to this day I still love leading and teaching athletes of all
