They believe themselves, their partner, and their relationship can develop and expand (DweckC, pp. 151). They know they will not agree on everything, but use communication and compromise to settle the gaps. Dweck says, “. . . a good, lasting relationship comes from effort and from working through inevitable differences” (DweckC, pp. 152). They know every relationship will take work, but are not blind to the fact that some relationships won’t last. Every person on earth is different. They have different “. . . talents and aptitudes, interests, [and] temperaments . . .” (DweckA, pp. 7). In her work, Dweck asks if “. . . people with [a growth] mindset believe that anyone can be anything . . .” she answers “no, but they believe a person’s true potential is unknown . . .” (DweckA, pp. 7).
The growth mindset is forever changing and improving. It is about cultivating your knowledge to achieve your goals and aspirations in life. The growth mindset believes in life learning and challenge. They strive on becoming a better, more intelligent version of themselves. They use their “failures” as stepping stones to the right path. Most importantly, the growth mindset believes everyone is capable of numerous accomplishments. The saying "anything is possible if you put your mind to it” can be accredited to the growth mindset and their view of the world around
