What is grit/growth mindset? And how can I apply it in English class this year? Grit/growth mindset is a combination of persistence and resilience. These two qualities are very important to have. If you have both these qualities you have grit. And once you have grit you can learn anything. It is important for every student to learn and use grit/ growth mindset in school.

I'm going to apply my effort and time in this years English class. I'm going to check over my work and put in my time and my dedication in everything I do.Grit entails “working strenuously toward challenges, maintaining effort and interest over the years, despite failure, adversity, and plateaus in progress” (Duckworth, et al, 2007, p. 1087-1088)-Angela duckworth, ted talks 2013. Working hard for something is important to achieve.
Lastly i'm going to have a positive attitude in everything I do and try things that seem impossible. For example, when I first learned how to ride a bike it seemed impossible at first and if I gave up at the first try, it would be, but by having persistent and keep trying I started to get the hang of it. I practiced and worked on it a bit at a time and eventually it started to get easier for me. I learn from your mistakes and the more I worked the easier it got. I'm going to apply this to this year's English class because by having a positive attitude and keep on trying, I can receive the goal I want.
Learning is hard work that’s why you need grit because the key to success in school and life is by having grit/growth mindset and applying it to school. That’s why I plan to use grit/growth mindset in this years English
