Case Study Of Teachers Strategies In Teaching English
The purpose of this case study is to investigate and identify the preparation of teachers teaching in the content of knowledge and their standard teaching approaches with diverse students across the curriculum. The researchers also critically examine the issue of the National Association for the Education of young children to support and secure the feelings of ESL students to be competent in their learning. This case study is connected to my research study topic which is “Teachers’ Strategies in Teaching English in Early Childhood students.” As a practitioner, I feel that it is important for teachers to understand and care for early childhood students. The interview lasted one and one half hours and the information was recorded and written down for the purpose of recording detailed information about the interviewee. I strongly believe and support that interviewing the teachers will give teachers a deeper insight of the teaching practices of an experienced teacher. The authors could have applied a questionnaire method with an open-ended and closed questions to gain more in–depth information from the questions designed by the researcher as the research study intend to qualitative data. The questionnaires which are planned by the researchers would also give space for the participants to give their views appropriately based on the questions. However, the authors have clearly explained the purpose of the research is to ensure the confidentiality of the participants to feel secured and answer truthfully. The information were gathered and transcribed for Ms Tiffany to review the information to gain her approval based on the trustworthiness of the teachers’ perception. The authors also recommended member and peer examination, to check and obtain the feedback of the data for teachers to make the necessary …show more content…
The ESL teachers would also regularly visit her classroom to test the diverse population of a small group with the reading strategies to test students on their level of English. Tiffany explained that the ELLs teachers used a lot of language activities on vocabulary building with ELL students and the importance of social interaction with these students for language development. In the attempts of making the ESL program successful she also indicates that the environment of the classroom is an important aspect to develop a secure place for children to learn effectively. The research study highlights on the factor that early childhood students should have fun while engaged in activities in a manner that the ELL students get a chance to pick up quickly and experience early

    We’ve allowed a natural approach to language instruction to dominate our schools, hoping our English learners 
“will just figure it out.” (SCOE, 2009) This approach suggested by Kevin Clark proposes that teachers explicitly teach ELL by giving them a set of skills. Teacher will have to teach students not just vocabulary, but the sound system of language, the words and their word parts and meanings, and also rules for structuring sentences grammatically. Teaching students from this perspective can support a deeper understanding of the language. When the concept is thoroughly supported by background knowledge, explanation as to why, activities that strengthen skills, and consistency in lesson structure that follows this pattern, students are more likely to understand the concept and create a platform from which to launch higher level thinking and conclusions on following concepts and content area. Students learn more efficiently when they have prior knowledge on a presented concept. If the student can link content to a concept that they gained from previous knowledge on from their own unique background or culture, it will inevitably spark interest in that subject area. By sparking interest the teacher is now adding value to the lesson. Since students synonymize interest with value, the teacher would prove effective.     Selection of teacher is a very serious job because a teacher deals with children and they are the future of any nation. The behavior of a child can be reflected with by the behavior of his teacher and hence a teacher should be a good person and a good human being. The main qualities of a teacher should contain extreme patience which is needed in case of teaching children and if this quality is missing then that individual is incapable of becoming a teacher. Recently I was given the opportunity to conduct an interview of a teacher. The name of the teacher was Linda (actual name hidden) and she was a teacher by profession and was teaching kindergarten children. The experience of this interview was amazing because fist of all she was a lady with an exceptional personality and there was always a smile in her face. I definitely asked about the reason for her smile and why she keeps on smiling, in reply I got a very interesting. According to her whatever we do are imitated by the children and she wants that her every children should keep a smile in their faces always. The age group of children she was dealing with was in the range of 4-8 years. The children in her school were from different backgrounds with different ethics and rituals. The demographics of the children and their families were very strong and concern. In her interview she stated about the background of the families of the children as very educated and the parents are very concerned about the quality of the education their children are getting. Her experience in this field was around 15 years. The most enjoyable thing in her job was to deal with children who give inner peace and this was the main reason for choosing this field. In her view the accomplishment as a teacher to give a fruitful teaching to her fellow children and share some learning experience with them.…

This growing diverse population of English learners has to simultaneously learn to build their English language proficiency and the content area within their grade level standard.
