“ On December 7, 1941, Japanese aircraft and submarines attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. naval base in Hawaii (see map inset).” (Pearl Harbor and World War ll).The attack on Pearl Harbor was also the start of World War ll. They destroyed three hundred airplanes, eight huge battleships, and twenty naval vessels. (“Pearl Harbor”). That hurt Hawaii major in the war because they destroyed most of their weapons. One thousand soldiers were wounded during the attack. (“Pearl Harbor”). More soldiers were injured during Pearl Harbor, there was hundreds of people who got killed. “Congress immediately declared war on Japan and its allies.” (Pearl Harbor and World War ll). Pearl Harbor was a big factor in Hawaii’s history.
