One in every four children and one in every three adults are obese in America. “A new study suggests that under-exercising, rather than overeating, may be at the heart of America's obesity epidemic.” Deborah Netburn, a science reporter for the Los Angeles Times writes. The number of exercising people has dropped over the years.“The researchers found that from 1988 to 2010, the percentage of adults who reported doing no exercise in their free time grew dramatically from 19% to 52% in women, and from 11% to 43% in men.” Netburn continues. The analysis showed that the United States is home to the highest number of overweight and obese people in the world. In the U.S., 70.9 percent of men and 61.9 percent of women are overweight or obese, compared to 38 percent of men and 36.9 percent of women worldwide. Our country has an extremely high obesity rate.
