Cchah Monologue
Do you ever have a day where the snow just gets to be too much for you and you get tired of it and just want to sleep? Well today is definitely one of those days. Every day I come home from school and I do the same thing. I make some food, sit down on the couch that’s as soft as a cloud and I do my homework. But today feels totally different, today is the day. Today is the day I’m going to take control of my life. I just want to feel like a star in the night sky. CCHH as I unlock my phone, a text comes in Joel: what are you doing why can’t you answer me back? Me: I just can’t do this with you anymore Joel, you physically, mentally, and verbally hurt me. I’m breaking up with you to better myself. Joel: You won’t do shit, you aren’t strong enough. You need me.

Me: sure, it’s kennahov23 Did he really just call me cute? This boy I’ve had a crush on for three years, just out of the blue now that I’ve been single? I think my heart just had its own surprise party inside of me and now confetti is all over. I call my sister over to tell her that Brandon called me cute. “You better hop like a bunny right on that sis” she says to me.
And that’s just what I did. Five months have passed and I and Brandon are together and so happy. He is the most amazing, handsome, loving, caring man I have ever met. He has a complete heart of gold. I feel so much happiness within myself as well as my relationship. Being with someone who literally burns you just because they think it’s funny to watch you in pain is never ever okay. Abusive relationships are so scary and you feel trapped. “Kenna, thank you for doing something for yourself, it’s bettered you in so many positive ways and I love seeing you happy.” My mom says to me. “Thanks mom I’m trying to be the best I can be and I have an amazing support system that’s for sure.” I say to her with a tone of happiness in my voice. “I’m leaving to go to school now, I love you” Mom

Don’t you people see what’s going on in our country? Do any of you even have the mood to just smile for one second? You will be living in broken houses, wearing torn clothes and barely having any food supplies! So, stop complaining about foolish people. Now, do not waste my precious time! Let’s get out of here! Mom and I day have our own house now, we have great family and friends, she has a good job and I graduated from high school with good grades. It’s funny because when she told me that we were going to be alright I didn’t believe in her, but she was right. After all the struggles, the tears, the fights, and the confusion, we’re alright. I learned that all sacrifices paid off, and that you can do anything you want if you’re determinate and have the inner strength to pick yourself up every time you fall. Coming here to Miami was hard, but I’m very grateful that we did…
