In my opinion, he is not a hero, but an anti-hero. Dally was a criminal, and he took pleasure in that; he didn’t like doing things the legal way. He was a product of bad circumstances. The reason why he is a hero, is that he saved Johnny and Pony many times. Dally helped them find a place to stay when they were fugitives; gave them money and a gun; and when he risked his life to save the kids from the burning barn.…

Courage is probably the most important characteristic of being a hero. Johnny may not look courageous, but he shows the courage inside of him. Johnny shows courage a few ways. One way Johnny shows courage is by saving his friend Ponyboy from a group of Socs that had jumped them. Johnny may have had killed one of the Socs, Bob, but he saved his friend Ponyboy from drowning. Just like in super hero movies where a hero may have killed a villain, but saves others’ lives from the danger the villain was causing. Another way Johnny shows courage was by talking back to Dally, a mean vicious greaser who was harassing…

There are many differences and similarities between Johnny and Dally. Dally is wreck less, violent, dangerous and a bad boy who has sharp teeth, ears of a lynx (which is a type of cat), a pointy chin and elfish face with a high cheekbone. But Johnny is the opposite who is a nice, kind, nervous, sensitive and a shy 16 year old boy. Also Johnny has a dark tanned face, big black eyes, greased and combed hair. Both boys had something in common like their loyalty to their friends, they belong in the same gang, do anything for a friend in need, they care for each other and how their parents don’t care for Johnny and Dally. Johnny plays as a sensitive, quiet, nervous and, shy person and Dally plays as a tough, dangerous bad boy through out the novel…

Darry was always serious and he had a weird way of showing Ponyboy he loved him but he did love him. Even though he didn't say it or express it he did love him and I knew this because he always told Ponyboy to stay out of trouble and to never walk home alone so he wouldn't get sent to a home. Darry mostly acted the way he did because of the death of his parents.…

Dally Winston’s death was sad for mostly all the greasers. He was a role model to them and people looked up to him. The day he died there was mourning for all the greasers. They had just lost one of their best friends, and Johnny. If Dally hadn’t died many things could’ve happened. He could’ve stayed the same, changed, and the book’s ending could’ve been entirely different.…

Heroes aren't people with super natural abilities that make them greater and stronger than ordinary people. Heroes are people who make an effort to change the world no matter what it takes. This is clearly shown by Lieutenant Dunbar in the novel "Dances with Wolves,” written by Michael Blake. Dunbar shows traits of heroism by being loyal to his word when he does not leave his post, even when there was no sign of help; showing bravery by saving Stands With a Fist when he could have left her to die; and completing his own personal, emotional quest. Lieutenant Dunbar may seem like a normal person, but he acquires the traits to be a real hero…

How could a hoodlum die a hero? Most people would say it is not possible for a hoodlum to be a hero but I disagree. I think that anyone can be a hero if they care about helping others and are willing to risk their lives for someone else. Dally was a hoodlum but he cared about his friends like they were family and he did everything he could to protect them. According to the dictionary, a hero is someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities. Dally was a hero because he helped Johnny and Ponyboy when they were in trouble, saved their lives, and died to help them. Dally was a hero to his friends, therefore, he died a hero.…

Dallas Winston never knew a world with anything good in it. He grew up in the wrong side of town in New York City, was constantly getting in trouble with the law, and he says in the book that his father does not care about him. “…my old man doesn’t give a hang whether I’m in jail or dead in a car wreck or drunk in a gutter.” (Pg.…

I believe Harry is a hero for various reasons. Firstly, he is very generous. During his trip to L.A. in 2012, he bought 2-3 thousand dollars worth of pizza and handed it out to the homeless. Also, during his trip to Ghana early 2013, he bought vaccines for sick and dying babies less than a year old. He gave away his beanie to a child in Ghana after he said he liked it. But that’s not the only thing he gave away!…
