Characteristics Of Rogue States
Due to the current position of Structure and political pattern of a particular geographical/territorial entity, some countries have failed to meet up with that the ideal nature of what a state is. As a result of the circumstances facing the turnaround of an ideal state, failed and rogue states have emerged to explain the current situation confronting certain countries of the world.
A state is a nation or territory considered as an organized political community under one government.( Oxford English Dictionary , 1989) .There is no universally accepted definition of failed states. An attempt to look at the definition would mean to look at the characteristics of a failed state. According to Goldstein and Pevehouse , “Failed states have very

Therefore failed states are geographical areas which have lost most if not all of their sovereignty to non-state actors and cannot perform basic functions anymore. Some examples of failed states are North Korea, Afghanistan, Democratic republic of Congo, Somalia, Nepal and Nigeria.
Most of the failed states are third world countries where political instability and over population are the order of the day.
A rogue state is a nation that is considered very dangerous to other nations . Before a state can be failed completely it has to become a rogue state as first. The characteristics of a rogue state are the same thing as the characteristics of failed states. Some examples of rogue states are Iraq, North Korea, Libya, and Israel.

It is ranked as the 222th worldwide in terms of GDP .It is the number one state in the world in which there is famine and malnutrition. Thousands of people die daily because of their lack of access to food and good nutrition .The Islamic militant group called al-Shabab in 2010 declared a formal alliance with the al-Qaeda.On the 23rd of November this militant group attacked a bus near the Kenyan-Somalia border. The inhabitants of this bus were Kenyans; this group killed 28 people because they were non-Muslims. It should be noted that the people that were killed were not Somalians. Piracy is a major problem for Somalia and affects the world order in general. The pirates have taken over the waters near the Somalia border and rob all those who near the waters. These waters are no longer at peace, the US and China has sent ships to conquer the pirates and try and keep the shipping lanes safe .In 2014,11 sailors from Asia and Iran were released after being kidnapped for three and a half years by Somalia pirates . . These sailors were beaten and tortured (reuters,2014). In 2010, seven Indian sailors were also kidnapped and were not released until 2014 (Eddy,2014).This goes to show that failed states not only endanger their citizens but also citizens of other
