Cheerleading’s roots are closely tied to the American sport of football. When you even utter the word cheerleaders/cheerleading your mind shows you a picture of a high school/ collegiate/professional football game with a row of girls in crop tops and miniskirts waving up at the crowds with a bright white smile plastered on their faces. This though, was not always the case for cheerleading. In fact it was quite the opposite.
