Chess Pie Research Paper
How to Make a Classic Southern Chess Pie
You won't get far in the South without running across a great Chess Pie or two. It's a classic recipe that is standard within this cuisine. It is also a pie that is relatively easy to make. But, if you are looking for the best recipe, make sure you check out Nana's Cookery's recipe.
All you need to get started is a stick of melted butter, sugar, flour, apple cider vinegar, vanilla and three eggs. Naturally, you will also need a prepared pie shell. After you have gathered all your ingredients, you will simply need to mix everything together and fill up your pie shell. After baking for 35 minutes, you are ready to enjoy your pie.

Once you have prepared your kitchen you can get started on the recipe. First pour a pound of whole pecans and a teaspoon of cinnamon into the food processor and grind them to a fine chop. If you do not own a food processor you can purchase finely chopped pecans and hand mix the cinnamon into them; however, I do recommend the food processor method because you can chop the pecans to a nearly dust-like consistency. Set the cinnamon pecan blend aside while you start to prepare your dough.…

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Butter and flour an 8inch square pan. In a mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the eggs at medium speed until fluffy and light yellow. Add both sugars. Add remaining ingredients, and mix to combine. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 8inch square pan and bake for 45 minutes. Check for doneness with the triedandtrue toothpick method: a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan should come out clean. When it's done, remove to a rack to cool. The first thing to do is to round up all the needed ingredients. You’ll need about 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of salt, 2 sticks of butter that are softened, 3/4 cups of granulated sugar, ¾ cups of packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 large eggs, and a bag of Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, which I prefer. Then you’ll have to dig up a 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan, a small mixing bowl, a large mixing bowl, a hand-mixer, and a can of Pam to spray your pan. Once you have the ingredients and the pan is prepared, it’s time to preheat the oven to 375 degrees.…

Everyone has sinned in their life, and everyone has felt some guilt for it, but that guilt hits some harder than others and it smote the naïve six year old Gary Soto with a compelling blow. In his autobiographical narrative Gary Soto vividly expresses the guilt he felt for stealing a pie from the perspective of his six year old self with a wide-eyed misunderstanding of religion. Using both irony and imagery Soto creates a powerful image of how his poisonous guilt pestered him.…
