Chicken Livers Lab Report
Title I decided to do my experiment on chicken livers. It was interesting to do this experiment on chicken livers. The results were that since there is DNA I needed to stir the ingredients slowly and do the experiment as quickly as I can due to the fact that there are enzyme in the cells. I found out that liquid detergent is an active agent which the detergent destroy the cell membrane and also the protein.
Abstract

I chose to do my experiment on chicken livers to see what the results would be. The results were that I notice that after three seconds I saw what look like white strands that actually look like cotton which had appear in the ethanol layer and this was the DNA.

Introduction

DNA was was discovered in 1868, but was not established as inherited information until nearly a century later. DNA was uncovered by a Swiss medical student whose name was Johann F. Miescher who actually discovered it while working with white blood cells that he removed from pus withdrew out of an operating cut. It was then established that the nuclein was rich in phosphorous and was furthermore acidic. This was the reason that it was named nucleic acid, also known as DNA still has. (DNA-Structure, 2013). Although Miescher found DNA, it took eighty- four years for scientists to acknowledge it as genetic

The first step was to blend the frozen livers in the blender for about two minutes. The second step I needed to split the liver juice. The third step I needed to add salt and to make sure that it was stir gradually. The fourth step I needed to boil the liquid for about four minutes. The fifth step I needed to screen the liquid by using cotton gauze as soon as possible and then cooling it by using ice cubes. The sixth step I used the ice and the alcohol and stir it in the

Avery and his colleagues conducted a study to prove that DNA was indeed the carrier of the genetic data, not protein, as most scientist of that time would assume. Streptococcus pneumoniae, also called pneumococcus, was the subject of Avery’s experiment. These non-virulent bacteria had 2 types that do not convert spontaneously among each other, but when injected to a mice died. This…

Deoxyribonucleic acid, also known as DNA contains genetic information and is found within the chromosome of human cells. After countless hours of research on thethis fairly new phenomenon it was Sir Alec Jeffereys of England who developed a technology that was based solely on DNA in 1985. DNA plays a major role in technology, it is used for identification, and it has been a leading source in identifying biological samples such as saliva, urine, blood, semen and hair. All of these samples have been extremely helpful with government, federal, state and even private agencies…

You must create a moving PowerPoint presentation or video to show the structure of DNA, how it was discovered and how it can be used in genetic engineering. If you cannot create a PowerPoint or video then you must produce a storyboard/written set of instructions describing what you would have done. Your homework should be at least 1 page typed (size 12 font) or sensible sized handwriting (8 words per line). Labelled diagrams, tables and charts are also appropriate for this task but you must describe them in your own words.…

Cell-free fetal DNA (CffDNA) in prenatal screening which considers being a recent non-invasive technique. This non-invasive diagnostic test believes to be much safer and can be performed in early pregnancy easily comparing to invasive diagnostic testing. However, CffDNA has flows such as confidentiality, informed consent, and counseling.…
