The day I was born, my daddy named me Chisom, which means God is with us. He was so excited and proud his son was born happy and healthy.

My parents always spoke positivity into my life. They started early with making sure my self esteem was high and intact.

Irene Okoronkwo- Obika is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, friend, entrepreneur, nursing consultant, motivational speaker, author, board certified family nurse practitioner and board certified family psychiatric nurse practitioner. She wears many hats! She has a passion for serving vulnerable populations and helping youth realize their full potential. She currently provides psychiatric care to incarcerated adolescents and adults. She is a board member of Emmanuel’s Village Builders, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors that will attend a 4-year university. She was bullied as a child growing up Nigerian in New Orleans, Louisiana but through family support and determination, overcame bullying and has reached the height of her academic career in nursing by receiving a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington. She resides in Grand Prairie, TX with her husband and young son,
