As I think about an event or experience that has influenced me in my academics and goals at CCU, I first must tell you what my goal is. My ultimate goal is to become a Christian Counselor, serving my Father well and able to support my family in that capacity. So Many events and life experiences contribute to my new found goals. Life lessons spring from relationships, and there are too many relationships to count. Family and friends, classmates, teammates and coworkers have all made an impact as my influences. Goals are made and changed with time and mine were no different, ever changing. But one day stands out as a turning point in my life, the day God revealed my purpose. But free will gets in the way and choices are made that are not in his plan, so my purpose was not clear to me. I didn't have a goal. Amazingly, God gives us a second chance (or 2 or 20) and in our obedience He shows us what is best for us, what He wants for us. It was in this season of my life, in obedience to Him, that He revealed His purpose to me. He gave me a goal. I was at my women's bible sturdy and talking about God's plans for each of us, when my friend said that she was being called to go back to school and become a Christian Counselor for teens. She explained how her involvement in the lives of the teens at our church had greatly impacted her and the decision to go back to college and "make it official". Many months before this moment, I had been praying that He would reveal His plan for me. I had been looking for a lightning bolt, but He whispered to me, "this is what I have for you." I'm not involved with the teens as my friend is, I knew that wasn't specifically for me. But a Christian counselor, Yes, this was it! I had spent the last few months walking through a tough time with my sister, sharing tears, ideas and counsel. I had become a leader in the women's ministry at my church and grown
